Display
Both smartphones have their advantages in terms of display. Both smartphones come with an FHD+ display with 2400 x 1080 resolution. In addition, both can also deliver rich colors and deep blacks, thanks to the Super AMOLED screen on the realme GT Master Edition and AMOLED on the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE. Nonetheless, the Super AMOLED is more advanced, and it integrates touch-sensors and the actual screen in a single layer.
Further, the realme GT Master Edition also has a smoother 120Hz refresh rate than the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE’s 90Hz. With a higher refresh rate, scrolling through social media, long documents, or news feeds is less strenuous on the eyes because of the extra perceived fluidity. It also has a higher 360Hz touch sampling rate, giving users a snappier experience when gaming or using applications.
On the flip side, the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE features Dolby Vision and HDR 10+. In addition, it is also equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection against damage from drops. According to Corning, the Gorilla Glass 5 survives up to 1.2-meter waist-high drops onto hard, rough surfaces.
CPU and GPU
Powering both smartphones is the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset paired with Adreno 642L GPU, so we can expect the same level of performance on both. However, do note that we can only determine the extent of their performance and thermals once we have both units for a review.
RAM and Storage
The Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE has either 6GB or 8GB, while the realme GT Master Edition has 8GB of RAM. Both smartphones have either 128GB or 256GB storage, but the Xiaomi device benefits from expandable storage up to 1TB via microSD.
Cameras
For the cameras, the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE comprises triple rear cameras with 64MP (main), 5MP (ultrawide), and 5MP (telemacro) sensors. On the other hand, the realme GT Master Edition has triple rear cameras with 64MP (main), 8MP (ultrawide), and 2MP (macro) sensors.
The Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE’s third camera is a telemacro lens with a higher resolution than the realme GT Master Edition’s 2MP macro. The telemacro lens could also be an advantage for those who love taking photographs of small objects at a distance relatively farther than a normal macro lens.
Meanwhile, the realme GT Master Edition advances with its 32MP front camera compared to the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE’s 20MP.
Take note, though, that these numbers don’t always equate to quality. We will provide proof of which camera is better once we test both units for comparison.
Connectivity & Other Features
The two devices have 5G connectivity, Dual-SIM, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, SatNavs, and USB-C. Both also have fingerprint scanners but of different types and placements. The Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE has it on the side, while the realme GT Master Edition uses an in-display scanner.
For the software, both are running on Android 11 using their own custom skins.
Moreover, for audio, the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE is equipped with dual speakers, while the realme GT Master Edition has ultra-linear speakers with Hi-Res Audio certification. Unfortunately, what’s also missing on the Xiaomi device is a 3.5mm audio jack. This wouldn’t be a problem, though, if the Xiaomi device’s package would come with a USB-C to 3.5mm audio jack adapter.
Battery
The Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE comes with a 4,250mAh battery, while the realme GT Master Edition has 4,300mAh. The difference in capacity isn’t much, but the realme device supports an almost twice faster 65W charging rate, so it also replenishes its juice way quicker.
