The Mobile Philippines magazine has been offering subscriptions for free in the last 8 months (at least) and I only found about it today.
I’m not really into magazines lately although I still have that 12-issue subscription from Digital Photographer. Went around Virra Mall this afternoon to get me a new kick-ass PC case (that’s for the PCLabs) when I saw copies of Mobile Philippines being given out for free.
It’s a good move I think since the focus is getting as many readers as possible and make money off print advertising. It’s pretty to sell magazines if they’re free, right? Inquirer’s Libre was a huge hit.
To those who aren’t into magazines any longer, would a free subscription change your mind and go back to reading a printed copy? In the era of Gizmodo and Engadget, could this be the future of gadget magazines?
Note: You can get a free monthly subscription by sending an email to [email protected] with your contact info and home address.
I simply wanted to construct a quick comment to express gratitude to you for some of the amazing suggestions you are showing at this site. My prolonged internet search has at the end of the day been rewarded with incredibly good content to talk about with my close friends. I would suppose that we site visitors actually are very lucky to be in a magnificent place with very many perfect professionals with beneficial basics. I feel very much happy to have come across the webpage and look forward to plenty of more thrilling moments reading here. Thanks again for a lot of things.
totoo ba talaga to? masubok nga! salamat sa pag inform!
Anywayz… As long as it’s free, then why not grab the opportunity. You can also verify it through this number. 759.2022 | 813.4396 | 840.0196 | 813.6848
@ Pablo: I just checked the link now and it worked. Most probably my very slow connection at home is the reason why it didn’t worked last time. Thanks.
Ayos ito boss abe, libre.
FREE is the best price.
Sent my email to them.
Thanks!
sir yuga,suggest ko lng po try mo ung gigabyte 3d aurora case. hehehe :)
I love reading magazines, and this will be a hit for me..
@August
Didn’t mean to be impatient hahaha was just trying to say that I haven’t gotten a response yet :)
Was just excited so medyo atat lol
@RJCA
if that response isn’t enough for you, then you should contact your lawyer.
about my previous post, well the front page above was dated Dec 2008. no wonder they are old gadgets
When I sent the email I got this reply:
Thank you for your interest in Mobile Philippines! We have received
your email and are currently processing your request. Good day!
Until now I haven’t gotten a follow up response.
I’ve signed up for a subscription. Now let’s see if they’ll deliver.
Too many papers lying around the apartment already.
This will really work. Since most people would really take advantage of it being free, they won’t even mind the ad drive magazine. Since most magazine that you buy for atleast Php 120.00 also have those ads… so why not get the same type of mags for free.
I just subscribe to… just to see what’s this all about!!! :)
It should be free! Look at all the OLD GADGETS on the cover!
but i’ll subscribe anyway
Abe also did a great job for us. He filtered the interesting information always and shared here!!!
THUMBS UP!!!
nagmayat metten… mabalin nga libre forever???
I hope they include the prices and store, too, just like in PC Buyers’ Guide.
Subscribed 8months ago pero isang beses pa lang ako nakakatanggap nito…
just sent subscription request. Will just wait for confirmation
i’ve been reading mobile philippines since i found out that it was free…the gadget reviews are a bit late as compared to the internet, but i like how it sounds more personal. i also like to tips and guides on how to do stuff which is quite helpful since yo don’t have to start up your browser and to search the internet just to find out how to do stuff more efficiently.
@prokopio
the link works…it’s a bit outdated though
Can I subscribe even if I’m from Laguna?
oh yes, they’d cool to have and to hold, but i stop reading tech mags because some of them are way too late for a news to be a news. the only mags that i read now are those culinary and restaurant-related mags.
going to give this a shot and try to email them. hehehe! as long as its free why not give it a shot.

Id rather g0 f0r the internet t0 check the latest news like here in yugatech…m0re precise & m0re specific.
N0 need t0 wait the issue t0 be printed diba? Just a click away.
Afterall…i can br0wse the net LIBRE..l0l
Free Gadget Mags would work wonderfully IF the Advertisers take full advantage of it. It usually take 2 months before an magazine issue comes out. So the news is already stale.
What they could do effectively is Gadgets Product Tie-ins where you could buy locally and order with ease (online or phone). Or at least point you the nearest retailer. But please include Price! I hate TBD pricing on any stuff.
Oh BTW I still don’t know where I could find a Build To Order Dell Mini 10 Ubuntu Edition locally. Dell PH website FAIL!
This looks nice. I was never into mags either but anything that can veer me away from my lcd monitor is always a good thing in my book.
ofcourse ill still get gadget magazines even though theres gizmodo and yugatech and also the the new site techie.com.ph. I love to collect gadget mags, specially that ones that has great covers…hehe
Of course, we shouldn’t forget Yugatech!
got this link from the inquirer site but it’s not working:

Just emailed them hahaha this seems interesting!
