One could say that I wear many hats. Most of the time, I’d be a blogger; more often I’d like to be called a netrepreneur, or maybe a consultant, or a designer or developer. There are other hats I’d like to wear too — maybe a voice talent for a radio commercial (but wait! there’s more!), a professional photographer or tong-its player, or maybe a regular DJ at the Embassy.
Last week, I was some sort of a production consultant (I really don’t know what that means or what it entails). Anyway, a friend of mine and former officemate asked me to help out decorate the venue for their family reunion (it’s the Katigbak and they’re a huge family of no less than 300). The venue was a basketball court in San Lorenzo village here in Makati. I initially said yes thinking it was a small gathering with a Hawaiian-themed luau party but to decorate half a basketball court is no small job. We’ll the guy thinking that I am a designer, could easily come up with something without a sweat.
Actually, it was a bucketful of sweat.
More like carpentry work to me.
This was actually my first commissioned work of such nature and to be frank it was a breathe of fresh air. No facing the PC for long hours or fixing server issues, writing project proposals or answering tons of emails.
Note to self: wear similar outdoor hats once in a while.
