YugaTech Choice Awards 2015

As part of our campaign in our 10th anniversary, we would like to announce the YugaTech Choice Awards. This annual end-of-year award highlights the best of the best as judged by the entire editorial team as well as our readers.

This year, we have identified 25 Categories with two winners per category — the YugaTech Editors’ Choice and the YugaTech Readers’ Choice. The first winner is nominated, deliberated and judged by everyone in the editorial team (all 7 of us). The second winner is solely voted by our readers.

During the nomination process, all editors submit their personal choices for each category and we tally the nominations for the top 5. This top 5 finalists will be the basis for the voting by the readers. Voting will start today until January 3, 2016. We will announce the winners on January 11.

As part of our 10th year anniversary celebration, we will also be giving away tons of prizes to our readers who joined in the Choice Awards. We will have speakers, earphones, smartphones, laptops, routers and many more prizes to give away (full list of prizes listed at the bottom).

      I would be a dual port usb stick. USBs have been so portable but it has been innovative to make it lesser hassle by directly extending your phone’s memory without cable hassles nor connecting online. That said, I’m ever changing like the usb stick, but now, I have been able to use innovation to make myself more useful to everyone who needs my assistance.

    Smartphone because it is very portable. It accompanies its owner in its everyday task. It can handle many different kind of programs and has a very big opportunity of more developments. You dont need different gadgets, even a smartphone can do such things. Everyday life is much easier when you have a smartphone. It can function as a camera, document reader, calendar, use for browsing and surfing the internet, and many more aside from its basic use of call and text.

    I am an action camera because I see the action and happenings on the events that I attend. I capture, process, record the event and documentate them through video blogs.     If I were a were a gadget, I would be a mobile phone/ smart phone. So I can capture moments on pictures and videos and post it on the cyber space so every event in someones life will forever be remembered. So I can use my GPS and lead the way so all my friends and loved ones wont get lost in life. I would be able to text or call everyone to greet them on their birthday, Christmas and New Year, etc. I would be able to play different kinds of music to make someone happy or feel loved. I can make children or adults (kids at heart) happy by playing video games with them and promote family bonding. I would use my calendar to remind people on special occasions and events. And most of all, I can use till the very last battery charge – my flashlight, to guide and illuminate anyone who is lost in darkness and needs a glimmer of hope.

    I agree, Telstra’s partnership with SMC and possible entry into the Philippine market is the year’s biggest story. I’m sure the greedy duopoly PLDT and Globe will not take it lying down but its time to let a new player in. We’ve been too patient for too long already with these two but we’ve lagged behind everyone else because PLDT and Globe know that no matter how rotten their service is, there’s nothing we can do but pay by the nose for the crappy connection.

    If I would be a gadget, I would be a DSLR. Why? We all know how essential a camera is for us. Yes, we may have smartphones that has 20mp with 0.3 seconds autofocus or what, let’s admit it, nothing beats a DSLR. The crispiness of photos produced by this gadget was just amazing. Whenever we have trips, we never forget to bring this gadget. DSLR is one of the witness of people’s happy moments. People tend to take pictures whenever they’re happy, or if they want to treasure that moment/view like for forever. Being a witness with everyone’s happy moments will always be an honor for me.

I would be a solar power bank for phones and laptops. All gadgets wouldn’t run without power. And solar power bank is eco-friendly and convenient to use, specially here in our country where there is sun all year round!

    Imagine how many people are using phones/laptops around the world, how many people are charging their phones/laptops everyday? Yeah, charging phones/laptops don’t consume too much electricity in every house… but imagine if everyone are using solar power bank… I am pretty sure there’s still a big impact on how much energy can be saved.

    PS. I bet mother earth will be very proud of me. Hahaha. <3

In the modern world people want digital device in their respective hand to perform their tasks easily efficiently. Smartphone offer application such as high speed internet, video chat entertainment, large display, extra memory etc. In the modern world Smartphone has become personal pocket computer.
    To be more specific, I would be a Zony Xperia Z5 Premium, as what Stephen Curry say’s “In my mind I am the best” -a kind of mentality that everyone should put in mind, … “and to be fair, the Z5 Premium does bring enough novelties to the series to deserve it’s name. The first ever 4k display on a smartphone is surely a catchy headline”

    If I were a gadget, I would be an Android smartphone device because I would like to be helpful at all times, easy to adapt with, and most of all: be able to connect one people to another. Connecting people = Connecting their hearts.
