Acer recently launched their new limited edition laptops that are inspired by the recent Marvel blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War. And leading the pack is the Acer Nitro 5: Thanos Edition. If you’re a Marvel fan and thinking of getting this machine, here are 5 reasons why you should.
Table of Contents
One of the obvious reasons why you should get this laptop is the design. Inspired by the villain Thanos, the Acer Nitro 5 is etched with The Mad Titan’s face on the lid with gold splashes which reminds us of the Infinity Gauntlet. On the palm rest, we can see the Black Order along with the Marvel badge. The hinge is also painted gold which complements the red backlit keyboard. Although made of plastic, the body uses a combination of brushed and matte finish for a premium look.
The Nitro 5 has a 15.5-inch IPS wide-angle LCD display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Acer calls this the ComfyView display. The screen is clear, vibrant, and color accurate while viewing angles are also decent. One cool thing we noticed on this laptop, the logo for Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War shows up when it starts booting up. The default wallpaper also features Thanos with the Black Order which is a nice touch.
If you like watching videos or listen to music on a laptop, the Nitro 5 can deliver in this aspect as it has loud speakers with Dolby Audio Premium sound technology. There’s also an application built-in that lets you adjust the audio settings to your liking. It may not be as good or loud as a dedicated external speaker, but it will suffice for watching your video collections, as well as streaming on YouTube or Spotify.
Running under the hood of the Nitro 5 is an Intel Core i5-7300HQ processor, NVIDIA GTX 1050 GPU (4GB), and 8GB DDR4 RAM which you can upgrade up to 32GB. With that kind of hardware, the Nitro 5 is a decent gaming machine. Users can play AAA games on this laptop but you will need to lower the graphics settings a bit for better performance. One thing that we like about the Nitro 5 is that even at the maximum attained temperature, the keyboard and touchpad don’t warm up to uncomfortable levels.
If you have plenty of files and programs to install, you don’t have to worry as the Nitro 5 comes with 128GB of SSD and 1TB of HDD storage. For programs that require speed like the OS itself, just install them in the SSD storage. But for big files like videos, music, and photos, the HDD storage is more than enough for whatever files you have on hand.
And that sums up the 5 best features of the Acer Nitro 5: Thanos Edition. It is now available for purchase for Php69,999USD 1,193INR 101,121EUR 1,136CNY 8,687.
