Apple’s newest and most powerful iPhones are finally here – the iPhone Xs and Xs Max. They pack an All-Screen design, a new powerful chipset, and dual-rear cameras. But that’s not all there is to it. Check out their best features below.
Table of Contents
Apple maintains the premium build for the iPhone Xs and Xs Max. It uses a surgical grade stainless steel band and comes in gold, silver, and space gray options. It has a durable glass on the front and back and is IP68-certified meaning it can handle being submerged in water for up to 2 meters for 30 minutes and protect against everyday spills including coffee, tea, and soda.
The new iPhones sport different screen sizes – 5.8-inches for the Xs and 6.5-inch for the Xs Max. They have Super Retina OLED screens with a pixel density of 458ppi, support for Dolby Vision and HDR10, and iOS system-wide color management for color accuracy. In addition, it offers 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio while showing 60% greater dynamic range in HDR photos.
Powering the Xs and Xs Max is the new A12 Bionic chip which is manufactured using the 7nm process. It has a 6-core CPU with Fusion architecture consisting of 2 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores, a 4-core GPU which is 50% faster than the A11, and an 8-core Neural Engine with support for Dedicated Machine Learning and Smart Compute System
The new iPhones sport dual 12MP (Wide-angle f/1.8 1.4um + Telephoto f/2.4 w/ 2x optical zoom) rear cameras with dual OIS and Truetone flash. It boasts advanced depth segmentation in Portrait mode to enable more sophisticated portraits with bokeh effects. There’s also the new Depth Control which allows users to dynamically adjust the depth of field in the Photos app both in real-time preview and post-capture.
Like its predecessor, the Xs and Xs Max features a TrueDepth camera system which includes the 7MP RGB f/2.2 front camera and Face ID. Portrait mode with Depth Control is also available on the TrueDepth camera for selfies, which includes Memoji and faster face tracking support for third-party ARKit apps.
The iPhone Xs and Xs Max comes with Gigabit-class LTE for even faster download speeds and, finally, Dual SIM Dual-Standby through the use of a nano-SIM and digital eSIM. This is good news for users who need to stay connected in two different networks.
Compared to the iPhone X, the Xs offers 30 minutes more battery life, while the Xs Max with the biggest battery ever in an iPhone, offers 1 hour and 30 minutes more.
The Xs and Xs Max has multiple storage options. You may start at 64GB if you’re a light to moderate user, or go for the 256GB if you’re a heavy user. But if that is not enough, you can go for the top-of-the-line 512GB.
iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max come with iOS 12 and introduces new AR experiences and makes communications more expressive and fun with new Animoji and Memoji. There’s also Screen Time which helps customers understand and take control of the time they spend interacting with their iOS devices, Siri Shortcuts to give an app the ability to work with Siri, and new privacy features help protect users from being tracked on the web.
And that sums up the best features of the iPhone Xs and Xs Max. Are these enough to convince you to upgrade? Share us your thoughts in the comments below.

Existing na almost halos ng lahat ng nyan sa ipx palang eh, pinalaki lang ung screen, wala na bang iba? Ito na ata ung worse upgrade ng iPhone, mas okay pa ung mga nauna dati
Jude says:
As i see it, these new iterations of iphone come with no-so-huge upgrades. The processors are the main upgrades and the rest are just refinements of previous features. Had apple solved the face unlock problem of its predecessors? Hope they did.
