Play-to-earn (P2E) blockchain games are popular right now. Not only it’s a form of entertainment but you also get an opportunity to earn a little extra. One of the P2Es that we got to try recently is KOGs: SLAM! by RFOX Games, which is inspired by the popular street game during the 90s. Keep on reading to learn how to set up your account, play the game, and how to cash out the tokens you earned.

RFOX Games is a venture of RFOX, a Metaverse company building immersive metaverse experiences focussed on retail, media, gaming, and rewards. RFOX Games started in 2019 and create an ecosystem of interoperable tournament-based games that utilize emerging technologies like blockchain. One of its products is KOGs.
KOGs stands for Keys to Other Games which consists of collectible, playable, tradable, non-fungible tokens. KOGs act as in-game currency, which unlocks tournaments and skins, and provides VIP access to special events and virtual metaverses.
KOGs: SLAM 14!, on the other hand, is a free-to-play game that utilizes KOGs. In this case, the NFTs take the form of collectible KOGs with unique artwork on the front. While you can win and get KOGs from the game’s Arena mode or in-app shop, you can also purchase it via the marketplace or mint your own via KOGs Mint Lab, KOGs: SLAM! doesn’t require you to purchase or mint NFTs to play the game.
As for the game itself, if you’ve played POG back in the day, the concept is the same but this time you’re playing it digitally. KOGs are stacked up face down on the floor, then you will use a KOGs slammer to hit that stack. The player gets a point for each KOG flipped face-up. The player who collected the most KOGs after three attempts is the winner.
Starting is easy as all you need to do for now is to download the KOGs: SLAM! app from the Google Play Store. If you’re on iOS, don’t worry, an iOS version will be released soon. Once downloaded, you can start by creating an account, either with Facebook, Google account, or Apple ID. You can also play as guest if you don’t want to commit yet. After choosing which account to link to the game (take note of the email used for that account), all you need to do is create a password. We’ll use that account and password later when we login to our RFOX ID for the tokens.
Once that is done, you can now start with the tutorial of the game. It’s straightforward and easy to learn given the simple mechanics. Just drag the slammer up, then swipe down quickly to hit the stack. It’s simple enough to help you progress, but with enough difficulty to challenge you and keep you hooked.
You can choose between single-player or multi-player. We recommend trying the practice mode in single player to get a feel of it, then try to play the boss challenge. You get free “Demo KOGs” the moment you start playing the game.
Multi-player mode, on the other hand, has Ranked Match so you can play with other players. There’s Arena where you can beat as many challengers as you can but requires you to pay 250 KOINS (in-game currency). A Tournament mode is also coming out soon.
KOINS is the name of the in-game currency. You earn this by completing daily missions such as beating bosses a number of times, winning in the ranked match a number of times, or flipping a certain number of KOGs during matches. The missions refresh daily so there’s something to do every day. Once you complete all missions, you can claim KOINS.
Like with other P2Es, tokens have to be converted through exchanges before it becomes fiat money. In this case, you will need to convert KOINS to RFOX tokens, then RFOX tokens to WAX tokens. The WAX tokens will then be sent to your Binance account where you can trade them for coins like USDT, which you can sell for Philippine Peso (PHP) through P2P trading.
Step 1) KOINS to RFOX
Once you have collected enough KOINS, you can use them to purchase KOGS premium packs to add to your collection or convert it to RFOX as one of the first steps to cash out. Just press the + icon beside the RFOX token at the upper right to make the exchange. Take note that a minimum of 1,000 KOINS is needed to make an exchange. Once you’ve confirmed the amount, just wait for the transaction to finish and the RFOX tokens will reflect on the upper right.
Step 2) RFOX to WAX
Go to https://id.rfox.com/ and sign in using the account details you used in KOGs: SLAM! Go to My ACCOUNT then under MY WALLET, you should see your WAX address, which should be the same address shown in your KOGs: SLAM! account. You should also see the RFOX tokens available to send.
Go to https://wallet.wax.io/ and create an account. Once registered, you now have your WAX wallet address where we can send the RFOX token to.
Go back to https://id.rfox.com/, then under AVAILABLE RFOX, add your WAX wallet address as Recipient, then add the quantity of RFOX tokens you want to send. Click send, then input your password to authenticate the transaction.
Go to https://wax.alcor.exchange/ then connect your WAX wallet. Tap on Markets then search for RFOX. Click it then you should be able to see a dashboard where you can sell your RFOX tokens for WAX. Tap on Market trade then input the amount of RFOX you want to sell, then click on sell. The transaction is almost instantaneous and doesn’t require any gas fees. You should be able to see the WAX tokens in your WAX wallet. From here we can use the WAX tokens to buy KOGs in the secondary market or transfer it to Binance so we can convert them to fiat money.
Step 3) WAX wallet to Binance wallet
Go back to https://wallet.wax.io/dashboard and tap on Send. Choose WAXP then input the number of tokens you want to transfer, then click on Next. You will now need the Binance address and MEMO number, which you can get from your Binance account.
Login to your Binance account -> Wallet -> Fiat & Spot -> Deposit. Search for WAX in the search bar then click on Deposit. Copy the address and MEMO details to the Wax wallet dashboard then click next and authorize the transaction in the pop-up. Wait for a few minutes and the WAX tokens should reflect in your wallet.
Step 4) Binance wallet to GCash
Now that you have the WAX tokens in your Binance wallet, it’s time to convert them into coins that will most likely purchase using your local currency. It’s mostly USDT, BTC, BUSD, BNB, ETH, or SLP. We’ll be selling it in USDT, so we’ll need to convert it.
In your Binance dashboard, select Trade then Classic or Advanced, then search for WAXP/USDT. Input the amount of WAXP you want to sell for USDT then click sell WAXP.
Next, go to P2P, then Sell. Make sure to choose PHP as Fiat then look for a buyer that can purchase your USDT via GCash. Complete the transaction and you’re good.
Congratulations! You were able to convert KOINS token to cash. If the steps above seem complex, don’t worry, it only seems difficult the first time.
So, if you’re looking for a game to pass time with but at the same time can help you earn overtime, give KOGs: SLAM! a shot. Download here!
