OPPO has released the Reno13 Pro 5G as their latest premium mid-range offering in the Philippines. On the surface, this new iteration brings improved aesthetics, better performance, and of course, pro-grade cameras.
But aside from those, there are a couple of more things about this phone that surely make it interesting. What exactly are those? Well, you’ve come to the right place.

The very first thing that struck our attention is the phone’s premium looking design.
Our unit comes in the Graphite Grey colorway sporting a subtle yet elegant look. Then, there’s also the Plume Purple option with a shimmering effect going on at the back.
As you can see, the play of light and shadow here mimics a butterfly’s wing. If you got the right angle, you could even complete the butterfly look by placing the phone beside a surface where the reflective lights can be cast.
This Butterfly Shadow Design certainly adds a level of dynamics into the phone’s overall design, letting it stand out in the crowd.
Users can also feel safe with the phone’s tougher build quality. The OPPO Reno13 Pro 5G now boasts an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance. This means it can survive being submerged under freshwater as deep as two meters, lasting up to 30 minutes.
That’s a significant upgrade from last year’s OPPO Reno12 Pro 5G that only had an IP65 for resistance against water jets.
We tried submerging our unit underwater ourselves and it still works just fine. And also because of the stronger water resistance, underwater photography is also made possible.
Speaking of photography, the OPPO Reno13 Pro 5G packs some great set of cameras including a 50-megapixel main sensor and another 50-megapixel for telephoto lens both with OIS support, and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens.
In our testing, the phone’s camera delivers great detail and solid dynamic range. Shots come out looking sharp and vibrant, and honestly, most of them are ready for social media without any further tweaks.
The same holds true for the 50-megapixel front-facing camera. Selfies are clear with great clarity, and I like that there’s no excessive skin smoothing or overprocessing, just a more natural look.
There are even new nifty AI features that should help elevate users’ shooting experiences such as AI Livephoto, AI Unblur, and AI Reflection Remover among others.
Now, let’s take a closer look at those camera AI features. You can easily find all these tools inside the Photos app.
Just select the image you want to edit > tap ‘Edit’ > tap on ‘AI Editor’ > then the AI tools I mentioned should appear.
AI Livephoto is probably my favorite of all these tools. It lets you take dynamic live photos similar to how the iPhone does it.
Once you take a photo while the AI Livephoto is enabled, the OPPO Reno13 Pro 5G also captures a short video (in 2K resolution) for a second or two after the photo is taken.
Best of all, such Livephotos are compatible with iOS, so you won’t be having a hard time sharing Livephotos to anyone using an Apple device.
Next, there’s the AI Unblur that comes in handy for your blurry shots, as the AI will try and do its best to fill in the details here and there.
And when it comes to enhancing detail, there’s also the AI Clarity Enhancer in which users can upscale their images to 4K resolution. So, for example, you want to crop in a photo, you can go for AI Clarity Enhancer to make it sharper without compromising the image quality.
Then, there’s AI Reflection Remover, and as the name implies, it can remove those stubborn reflections for your photos. Say, you’ve taken a photo inside a car, on a plane, or even if it’s a mirror selfie, you can easily get rid of those unwanted detail (like light rays or reflections) caused by the windows. Pretty neat!
There are also new AI productivity features such as AI Summary and AI Writer. These will surely come in handy for students and professionals doing a quick research assignment on-the-go.
Those who love to travel will also appreciate the built-in Screen Translator feature. Can’t quite understand a signage that’s in another language? Just take a photo and let the phone do its thing and you’re good to go!
Moving on, another feature that we liked is the phone’s display. The OPPO Reno13 Pro 5G sports a 6.83-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.
Viewing experience is great and the screen remains visible under direct sunlight with a peak brightness of 1200 nits.
Also adding to the phone’s enhanced durability is the screen protection thanks to a Gorilla Glass 7i on top, providing resistance to everyday wear and tear.
We also dig the phone’s razor-thin and uniform bezels giving it a more premium look. It gets complemented by dual stereo speakers allowing for a more immersive media consumption.
Whether it’s about streaming your favorite shows or playing your favorite games, the OPPO Reno13 Pro 5G certainly brings a top-notch media experience.
The phone is no slouch in terms of performance either. Under the hood, the OPPO Reno13 Pro 5G is equipped with a near-flagship chipset, the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 built on an efficient 4-nm process.
It easily handled our everyday tasks with gaming on the side. We tried playing graphic-intensive games like Zenless Zone Zero and Wuthering Waves and these games ran well at medium to high graphics settings.
So, for a casual gamer like me, we highly appreciate the solid processing power the OPPO Reno13 Pro 5G has. Combine that with a snappy software, the ColorOS 15 built on Android 15, then you have a phone that goes on par with the flagships at a significantly more accessible price.
Speaking of OS, got friends who are using an Apple device, and you need to send them a picture? To make it more convenient, the OPPO Reno13 Pro 5G has a neat feature that allows it to directly send files to iPhone.
The iPhone user simply needs to download a lightweight app called “O+ Connect” from the App Store via a QR code. Then, just hit ‘Share with iPhone’ inside the OPPO Reno13 Pro 5G’s Photos app to send an image. It’s that simple!

The Reno Series has gotten a long way for sure, not just focusing on either performance or great cameras, but perhaps a blend of both. Plus, it has some flagship level durability along with nifty hardware and software features that make our lives easier.
