The vivo 3×3 Basketball Challenge, now in its second year, showcased a thrilling display of talent and teamwork. This year’s tournament featured 16 dynamic teams, including eight men’s teams and eight women’s teams. Each team consisted of three to four members, all of whom are 19 years old and above and Filipino citizens.
The competition structure ensures a thrilling journey for both players and fans. Eight teams from each category were divided into two groups, Pool A and Pool B, with each group engaging in a single round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout phase, setting the stage for intense matches as they vie for a spot in the Grand Finals. The top four teams in the first stop at SM City Fairview on July 21, 2024 earned the right to compete in the Grand Finals, where the ultimate champions of the game will be crowned.
The vivo 3×3 Basketball Challenge provides an excellent opportunity for players to showcase their skills in an intense 3×3 matchup. Each game is fast-paced, lasting 10 minutes or until one team scores 21 points, ensuring an action-packed experience for both participants and spectators.
The women’s category of the vivo basketball 3×3 game saw some intense and exciting matchups. RTU Lady Thunders clinched a close, low-scoring victory against Beyound with a final score of 8-6. East Side displayed strong ball movement and secured a convincing win over LODIS, finishing 17-11. Mixed dominated Karis Sports with excellent ball movement, ending the game early with a score of 21-9. In the men’s category, Initium Co started strong and managed to end their game against Wolf Pack with a final score of 21-16, just before the 10-minute mark. These early games have set a high standard, promising even more thrilling basketball action as the tournament progresses.

Spectators were also treated to a performance by the NU (National University) Dance Company, adding to the cheerful atmosphere.
