If there’s one thing we Filipinos love doing, it’s taking photos and videos. Whether it’s for personal use, vlogging, or just posting on social media, people want high-quality or stunning images and video footage. It’s the reason why most consumers today also factor in the camera and image quality in addition to the specs of the smartphone they plan to buy.
And that’s where vivo comes in – with the all-new V27 5G. It is vivo’s newest model featuring a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset, 12GB RAM+8GB extended RAM, up to 256GB internal storage, and a 4,600mAh battery with 66W fast charging. For its category, it is powerful and comes with an efficient battery. Perhaps the most notable feature of the vivo V27 5G is the new camera system.
The triple rear camera system in the vivo V27 5G is highlighted by a 50MP main shooter that uses a Sony IMX766V Sensor. The 50MP main shooter is then supported by an 8MP wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro lens. This ensures the V27 has you covered no matter what scenario or subject matter you’re shooting.
What’s even more impressive about the V27 5G is the front camera. It also uses a 50MP Eye Autofocus lens similar to the one in the rear camera. This makes it perfect for those who want to take great selfie photos with friends, without worrying about the resolution and image quality.
And for video? You can even shoot up to 4K@60FPS. Yes, that’s for both the front and rear cameras, making it perfect for traveling, shooting vlogs, and maybe some light cinematography. That’s right! The V27 is one of the very few ones that can do 4K selfies. It even comes with a really cool stabilization feature called OIS+EIS Dual Ultra Stabilization.
To fully utilize the camera on the new vivo V27 5G, we’ll be giving you guys a few tips, tricks, and hacks to level up your photos, videos, and vlogs.

One of the problems often encountered when shooting photos or videos is lighting, or the lack thereof. But the vivo V27 5G does have a neat trick which is called Aura Lighting.
Aura Light is essentially a ring light that automatically adjusts brightness in order to improve your photo’s lighting conditions. It replaces the traditional flash which might be a bit harsh, especially at night, but works as one as well. That means you can still take perfect Gen-Z selfies. Alternatively, Aura Light also acts as a softbox, similar to what you would find in photography studios.
As a result, you get natural-looking portrait images even if lighting conditions aren’t the best. Paired with the 50MP Eye Autofocus front camera, you get high-resolution photos that make your selfies look like a pro took them.
In addition to selfies, you can also take advantage of Aura Light when shooting videos, particularly vlogs. You can get the lighting close to perfect from the get-go, meaning less time editing and color grading videos in post.
This feature is perfect for vloggers and budding videographers that want to take advantage of the vivo V27’s 4K shooting capability. If you don’t have a gimbal, tripod, or not-so-steady hands, the V27’s Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) plus Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) function is your best friend.
Since the V27 5G has both, you get the best possible stabilization possible in a smartphone. OIS+EIS Dual Ultra Stabilization is often found on high-end smartphones only, but vivo has decided to integrate it into the V27 5G.
To activate it, all you have to do is hit that camera button with O+E and the “shake” icon at the top of the screen. It will automatically stabilize your videos from there.
As a result, you get super steady videos when filming. It’s especially useful if you want to create some cinematic footage, and it works great even at night too. At the same time, you can essentially do away with a phone gimbal if you want to pack light when creating content. Do note: it won’t be as stable as attaching your phone to a gimbal, but it’s really great alternative, especially if you don’t have one.
For photos, swipe down from the top and hit the stabilization button. The phone will then automatically stabilize the camera for you for better photos. This feature is especially useful when you’re shooting at night, and don’t want to use the flash.
For the photographers, why not take advantage of the vivo V27’s Sony sensor by shooting in High Resolution mode? The standard and other shooting modes don’t automatically capture 50MP images. This way, you can ensure that the images captured utilize the sensor.
To access High Resolution mode, you have to swipe to the right most and choose the 50MP mode from there. The V27 5G doesn’t shoot native 50MP, but it is easy to activate.
It’s perfect if you’re taking landscape photos, and the subject is a bit far away. Even if you zoom in, the details are retained. More importantly, they’re still sharp too and aren’t just digitally enhanced. The images taken in High Resolution mode are unlike other smartphones too, since they don’t look too filtered.
Aside from shooting backgrounds, having a 50MP Eye Autofocus front camera is great for selfies too. You don’t have to worry about your friends being blurred out in the background. It’s perfect if you want to post them on your social media accounts; they will still look great.
One of the biggest problems photographers and content creators face is shooting at night, especially in very low light conditions. As much as Aura Light is great, there are times when you don’t need to use it. That’s where the vivo V27’s Super Night Mode in photos and Super Night Video comes in.
To use for taking photos, just turn on night mode and shoot away. With this, you can capture some shots at night, whether it’s street, portrait, or landscape photography. The photos are great and don’t produce too much grain. More importantly, the images captured using Super Night Mode don’t look filtered at all thanks to the Sony sensor and the V27’s software. Little to no editing is needed too, making them ready to upload on social media.
As for the video, it works the same way, but this time you tap on the moon icon. Working together with OIS+EIS, you get brighter footage with reduced noise and overall clearer and better details.
Creating a vlog can be a time-consuming process. After you shoot the video, you will have to migrate files to your computer to edit and stitch them together. With the vivo V27, you can do all of that directly from your phone.
The Micro Movie feature offers templates, making it easier to lay out your video, add effects, and more. It can even give you ideas on what to shoot as a guide to improve your vlog. At the same time, you can edit the videos too. It’s not as extensive as what you would find in software like Adobe Premiere or Final Cut, but at least you no longer have to change systems to edit.
With this, even amateurs can create their own vlogs and creative videos which will look great on social media. Thanks to the nice 120Hz screen, you can review the video easily too, and make final adjustments from there.
These are just some of the tips and tricks you can use to capture great photos and videos using the new vivo V27 5G.
Ultimately, the best way to improve your skill set is to practice. As many great artists would say – wash, rinse, repeat! Over time, you’ll be able to maximize the vivo V27 5G to its fullest potential.
