BBM for Android out tomorrow, Sunday for iOS

As promised by BlackBerry back in May, BBM for Android will be out by tomorrow (September 21) and BBM for iOS will follow on Sunday (September 22).

iOS and Android users will be able to sign up for their unique BBM PIN and then use it once the BBM app becomes available on the iTunes Store or the Google Play Store.

BBM for Android and iPhone features:

BBM Chat – Enjoy real, immediate conversations with friends on Android, iPhone and BlackBerry smartphones. Not only does BBM let you know that your message has been delivered and read, it also shows you that your friend is responding to the message.

More than chat – With BBM you can share files on your phone such as photos and voice notes, all in an instant.

Keep your group in the loop – Multi-person chats are a great way to invite contacts to chat together. BBM Groups lets you invite up to 30 friends to chat together, and go a step further than multi-chat by sharing photos and schedules. And, with Broadcast Message, you can send a message out to all your BBM contacts at once.

Post Updates and stay in the know – BBM lets you post a personal message, profile picture and your current status, and lets your contacts know instantly in Updates.

Your unique PIN – Every BBM user has a unique PIN that maintains your privacy, so you don’t have to give out your phone number or email address to a new or casual contact.

BBM will be available as a free download for Android smartphones running Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean (Android 4.x) beginning at 7AM EDT on September 21. BBM for iPhones running iOS 6 and iOS 7 will become available for each market on the App Store schedule of 12:01 AM local time on September 22. 1. im waiting for this. thank you.
    :)

  2. As always no fucking love for WP8 devices.
Hahaha, poor pathetic WP8 users, they really deserve no love!

    • Troll detected. YOU ARE MAKING MANY TROLLS IN YUGATECH!

  3. Does that mean that you can send messages even if you don’t have available load credits offline?

    • @Allen, based on experience with BB devices, BBM uses internet/data plan and is not dependent on your load balance. So, as long as you have internet connection whether through data plan or wifi, you can use BBM. :) by the way, IMO, BBM is one of the best instant messenger available.

  4. how about android users with previous versions like gingerbread?

  5. Pwede ba yan gamitin kahit wifi lang. Sa blackberry kasi kailanga naka subscribe ka sa bbchat para magamit di pwede wifi.

  6. been waiting for this! will download as soon as available.!

  7. I’m happy with my iMessage & Facetime. Facetime audio is super cool.

  8. Mababankrupt n Blackberry. Lugi ng 1 Biliion usdollars last year. mag lay off pa ng 4500 employees. Tama nga sabi ni Tim Cook, in the mobile industry you have to continue innovating or less the company will die ( like Nokia, MS, and now Blackberry). No insult intended to BB fans pero nung unang labas ng Iphone pinagtawanan ito kasi wala faw physical keyboard perokabaliktaranang nangyari

  9. 8pm na. no where to be seen parin si bbm for android..

  10. almost 10.. still no luck.
