Xiaomi has released quite a number of devices last year from all of their sister brands (which are Redmi and POCO). Fast forward to 2024 and they are here to serve once again with the new POCO X6 series.
We’ve got our hands on POCO’s X6 Pro and we’re giving out thoughts on it!
If you wanna check out our review on the standard version, the POCO X6, you can check that out here on our website!
Table of Contents
The POCO X6 Pro has a plastic chassis and two materials, depending on which design you grab. The black and gray models come with a plastic rear, while the yellow colorway has a vegan leather back.
The camera island has a marble-like design and is popped out of the body. POCO’s logo can also be seen here. But hey, if you’re ever worried about the phone getting scratched or damaged, a rubber case is included in the device. You also get a 67W charging brick too. The X6 Pro also has an IP54 splash-proof protection certification.
For I/O, you’ve got the volume rocker and power buttons on the right side, USB Type C, dual SIM card tray, and one of the speakers on the bottom while the top side has the other speaker and an IR blaster.
It isn’t that heavy, nor is it hard to access the buttons, hold and navigate the device with one hand. I’ve got small hands, but I didn’t have a hard time going through the X6 Pro with either one or both of my hands, which is a plus.
The X6 Pro features a 6.67-inch CrystalRes 1.5K Flow AMOLED DotDisplay and has up to 120Hz refresh rate. It’s also got a peak brightness of 1800 nits and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection so you can be sure that you’re able to see the screen even when it’s bright out.
I’ve got no complaints about watching videos or going through social media on the device. Powered by Dolby Vision, the colors pop out as it produces almost to accurate shades of color. The bezels are really thin to the point they’re not noticeable at all.
As for sound, you’ve got dual stereo speakers and they’re pretty loud. I rarely go to the loudest volume setting with the X6 Pro as I’m able to hear the sounds the speakers produce clearly. Top that off with its refresh rate and you’ve got yourself a wonderful viewing experience!
Powering the device is a Mediatek Dimensity 8300-Ultra processor with a Mali G615 GPU. This chipset was announced back in November 2023 and is is manufactured using a 4-nanometer process tech and has 1 Cortex-A715 core clocked at 3,350 MHz, 3 Cortex-A715 cores with a max speed of 3,200 MHz and 4 Cortex-A510 cores clocked at 2,200 MHz.
Our config comes with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage, but there’s also an 8GB + 256GB combo available. If you need more RAM (if ever 12GB is not enough for you), up to 8GB of virtual RAM is available through Memory Extension 3.0. You can also opt for 4GB or 6GB of virtual RAM.
I’ve played Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail on this and it’s able to run both games smoothly on very high settings. There are some stutters every now and then, but that’s when the GameTurbo feature comes in.
GameTurbo allows the device to enhance its performance by optimizing the CPU and GPU for gaming. After turning that on, I rarely experience any lag, making it an enjoyable gaming experience.
A great power comes with a cost, however. The only gripe I have is that the phone heats up a bit fast with GameTurbo turned on. Even if you choose not to turn it on, the X6 Pro still heats up quite a bit so do take note of that. Not too hot to the touch, but still really warm.
Our Geekbench 6 results got the following results:
In our Antutu v10 benchmark test, the X6 Pro got a score of 1,312,011 which is pretty high. The UFS 4.0 storage is also fast and according to Antutu Storage, can do up to 4,167.7 MB/s read and 3,722.3 MB/s write speeds.
Meanwhile, our PCMark Work 3.0 got a score of 13,880.
Moving on to cameras, the POCO X6 Pro comes with a triple-rear camera setup featuring a 64MP main camera with built-in optical image stabilization, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro.
It’s able to capture details on the subjects which I appreciate. The cameras shine when it comes to taking photos in well-lit environments, but quality does drop a little bit for dimmer places.
Colors come out a bit too saturated for my taste too. Skin tone comes out a bit too pale in times in the front camera whereas bright and vibrant shades are over-the-top when they’re processed.
But hey, I’ve got to give it to POCO because it was fun taking shots and seeing the little details in photos and videos.
That’s just my opinion and my take on this. Here are our sample shots for you to see!
It’s got a 16MP front camera. Check out the sample selfie shot below:

The POCO X6 Pro runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS based on Android 14. It’s not too different from your usual MIUI interface so you won’t have a hard time when it comes to navigating around the device.
I would like to point out that it’s got a ton of bloatware which is pretty much expected of Xiaomi. Sure, you can uninstall them, but you’ve gotta take note of that when you first turn on the X6 Pro.
Still, I can’t be too upset with it as HyperOS has a lot of neat yet subtle features.
For one, you can now change the lockscreen fast by long pressing the screen. A menu will then pop up showcasing different themes that you can customize with your own photos.
Another thing it can do is cut out a subject in a photo provided that the subject is clear and focused on. Pretty neat if you want to edit your shots.
It’s also got an X-axis linear vibration motor, heart rate monitor, new split screen options and Second Space which is like having two phones in one device!
Second Space was available back in MIUI 10, but it’s nice that the HyperOS still kept this feature.
So, if you’re someone like me who wants a different space for work and personal life, you can simply swap to your Second Space profile which can have its own apps, passwords, and customization options
Do take note that multiple applications running will cause the phone to heat up. Second Space also drains a bit more of the X6 Pro’s battery life, but this takes me to my next topic – the battery.
The POCO X6 Pro runs on a 5,000mAh Li-Ion battery and comes with 67W Turbo Charging. It lasted almost a day without charging as when used in a combination of gaming, watching videos, going through social media, and taking photos.
You don’t have to worry about long charging times either. Charging the device doesn’t take too long as it took around forty-five minutes to fully charge it from 20%. That’s not bad, especially with all you can do with the device in almost a day.
Besides battery, it’s got dual-SIM card support, an IR blaster to use the X6 Pro as a remote control, and has support for Bluetooth 5.4, 5G, WiFi 6E, GPS and NFC.
In our PCMark’s Battery Test, it got a score of 13 hours and 41 minutes. Our Video Loop test, meanwhile, got a result of 14 hours and 51 minutes. This is where we loop a 1080p video at 50% brightness with no audio and airplane mode on.
Overall, the POCO X6 Pro is a great device to have and use as a daily driver especially if you enjoy watching movies, shooting photos and videos, and playing games on your phone.
Just beware of the occasional heat up.
The POCO X6 Pro has a suggested retail price of Php 16,999USD 290INR 24,557EUR 276CNY 2,110 for the 8GB+256GB variant and Php 19,999USD 341INR 28,891EUR 325CNY 2,482 for the 12GB+512GB variant.
And that’s it for our full review of the POCO X6 Pro! What do you think of the device? Would you get your own? Let us know in the comments!
