Xiaomi has been releasing multiple devices this year and now they have just revealed their latest tablet: the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro. The question is, can this tablet be your next daily driver to get you by? Read on and find out.
Table of Contents
The Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro comes in an aluminum alloy unibody which makes the device feel like it can take a hit (but we do not recommend hitting or dropping the Pad 6S Pro).
In a horizontal landscape, you can find the square camera island holding a dual rear camera setup at the right corner.
On the left side holds the Xiaomi logo and the three magnets for the device to connect to its magnetic keyboard and cover. You can also spot the usual warning text below that you would see in almost every Xiaomi device.
You can spot the USB Type-C port on the left side of the Pad 6S Pro in between two speakers. The right side has the power button and the other speakers. On the top, the volume buttons can be found along with the magnetic space to place the Xiaomi stylus on top. The microphones of the device can be found here too.
One thing I would like to point out is that the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro is quite heavy, weighing 590 grams. This is quite hefty compared to other tablets of this price range, so do take note if you are looking for a lightweight tablet.
Going to the other side of the tablet, the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro has a 12.4-inch LCD display with 144Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate and Dolby Vision support.
For color depth, it has 68.7 billion colors and a DCI-P3 color gamut. You can expect the device to display very accurate real life shades, showcasing vibrant colors and true blacks. You can spot the details of what you’re watching too like grains of sand and freckles on faces.
The Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro is also quite loud too as it comes with six speakers. This makes the device very loud without needing to go all the way up, providing a great viewing experience. The bass is decent and has great clarity.
Under the hood of the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with an Adreno 740 GPU. This chipset was announced back in November 15, 2022 and has one Cortex-X3 clocked at 3.19GHz, two Cortex-A715 with a max speed of 2.8GHz, two Cortex-A710 going at a speed of 2.8GHz, and three Cortex-510 with a speed of 2GHz.
I ran both Honkai Star Rail and Genshin Impact on Very High settings at 60 frames per second while Pokemon Unite was at its Highest graphics quality and frame rate. Gameplay ran smoothly for me without any evidence of lag, but the device tends to heat up quite a bit after a while. It isn’t too hot to the touch, but it does occur minutes after gaming on the tablet so do take note of that.
For benchmarks, here’s what we got:
The Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro is perhaps one of the very rare breed of tablets that’s powered by a flagship chipset so we really expected it to perform at that level.
For cameras, you get a dual-rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP main and a 2MP depth camera. It’s interesting to see two sensors on a tablet as I am not someone who uses a large device to take photos and videos.
The shots that the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro produces aren’t quite bad especially in well-lit environments though, but details tend to not be as evident when zoomed in. Colors can be a bit too saturated in dim lighting, but the AI tries to make the colors come out vibrant which can be a bit over-the-top in times.
For the selfie camera, a 32MP is found right in the middle. It does the job well especially for video calls and quick selfies.
Still, it’s not my cup of tea to use a tablet as my main device for taking photos and videos, but the Pad 6S Pro gets the job done when it comes to cameras.

Software
The Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro runs on Xiaomi HyperOS based on Android 14. Users who are used to Android devices will not have any trouble navigating through the UI and there isn’t any bloatware when you boot up the tablet.
The device can support up to two floating windows together with split screen enabled, allowing users to run up to four applications at the same time and displayed on the screen. There are moments that it may cause some lag depending on what apps you choose to run though.
There is Stylus support through Xiaomi’s pen, allowing users to write or draw on the tablet with no delays. Both the stylus and the keyboard will connect to the Pad 6S Pro the moment it makes contact with it through the magnets designed for them to be placed.
With the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro, you get a 10,000mAh battery to power the device while having a whopping 120W HyperCharge support. It takes more than an hour to charge the device from 20% to 100% and the tablet is able to last almost the whole day as I have used it to play games, watch videos, and type in scripts and articles on it.
Our PCMark Work 3.0 Battery Life test yielded a result of 14 hours and 2 minutes while our proprietary video loop test where we replay a 1080p video at 50% brightness, 0% volume, and in airplane mode got a total of 8 hours and 49 minutes.
For connectivity, there’s support for WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3. We were hoping NFC and an IR blaster could have been a better addition.
All in all, the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro is a great device to consider having as your daily driver if you have the budget for it. Its vibrant display and powerful processor allows you to run any game you need with ease, but for those who are not interested in gaming on the tablet, it may be overkill for you.
The Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro has a price tag of PHP 33,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant while the 12GB + 512GB version goes for PHP 39,999.
It’s a pretty hefty price tag for those who prefer to get work done on the tablet and not play games on it. However, for someone who is looking for a new tablet to game on, the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro is a great choice.
