IFA 2024: Lenovo Aura Edition Series unveiled

At IFA 2024 in Berlin, the Lenovo Aura Edition Series was unveiled. This included the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 and Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i. The brand also unveiled several other AI PC innovations that we’ll cover in another article.

Co-developed with Intel, the Lenovo Aura Edition Series showcased top-tier technology through exceptional user experience and productivity enhancements.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition

The ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition features a slim build. It weighs less than 1 kilogram and has a 14-inch display. It was engineered with AI-enhanced capabilities, promising exceptional performance, battery life, and an immersive user experience.

In addition, it’s powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processor with Intel Arc Xe2 graphics. The device offers incredible range for AI computing supported by its integrated NPU that offers more than 45 TOPS.

The laptop also has a premium Haptic TouchPad option that integrates the classic three button TrackPoint. Display-wise, it has up to a 14-inch 2.8K OLED Dolby Vision screen with anti-glare surface treatment. It even has a switchable refresh rate that peaks at 120Hz.

This device packs a 57Whr battery, slated to deliver more than 18 hours of usage. Other features include Wi-Fi 7 support, optional 5G sub-6GHz, and Copilot+ PC integrations with a dedicated key.

I/O consists of two USB-A ports, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, and an HMDI port. The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition will be available starting November 2024.

At the time of writing, sales are known to be limited in the UK, France, Germany, Nordics, and Switzerland. Prices will start at EUR 2,699 (~PHP 168,000) excluding tax.

Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition

Next, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i boasts a 15.3-inch 2.8K LCD panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It has a 16:10 aspect ratio and is TÜV Low Blue Light and Eyesafe certified as well.

Plus, it’s an Intel Evo Edition laptop powered by an Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processor. Under the hood, it has eight (8) cores, an integrated GPU, and an NPU delivering more than 45 TOPS.

The laptop comes with up to 32GB RAM, allowing users to multitask effectively. Storage-wise, users can get up to 1TB of SSD space for large files and faster data access. It even packs a 70Whr battery for extended usage.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for fast, stable wireless accessibility. For I/O, there’s two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a combo audio jack, a USB Type-A port, and an HDMI port.

Other features include Smart Modes, Smart Share, Smart Care, Shield Mode, Attention Mode, Wellness Features, and Collaboration Tools.

Smart Share is neat, providing an AI-enabled screen share option between smartphones and laptops. It leverages the device’s Elliptic Labs AI Virtual Sensor and supports iOS and Android platforms. Read more about its features here .
