Following one of the company’s most successful phones, the Optimus G, LG has finally announced its successor – the LG G2. The brand Optimus has been omitted from the naming this time, and a lot of improvements are promised as the Korean company plays out their card.
On a hardware standpoint, the LG G2 packs a 5.2-inch 1080 x 1920 Tru-HD IPS+ LCD display, larger than the G, but smaller than the G Pro. Also, a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU is running the show alongside the Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB RAM and a 3,000mAh battery.
The glass and crystal-patterned backing is nowhere to be found here anymore, as it is replaced by a texturized one. On top of that will be the 13 megapixel camera w/ LED flash and the uniquely placed volume & power buttons, which aims at making volume adjusting and ergonomics convenient when your fingers are on the back of your phone.
The bezels on the front side of the device are also thinner now, and LG even had the capacitive buttons removed to make way for on-screen ones. All of this is supposed to result in a more manageable form factor.
“Learning from you”
Software consists of highlights as well. From unlocking the phone & guest profiles to app shortcuts & gestures, LG has you covered with the little things as the additions found in the company’s Android UI is just plenty and quite a mouthful.
LG G2 specs:
5.2-inch 1080 x 1920 Tru-HD IPS+ LCD display, 424ppi
2.3GHz quad-core MSM8974 Snapdragon 800
Adreno 330 GPU
2GB RAM
32GB internal memory
WiFi
Bluetooth
GPS
NFC
4G LTE
13 megapixel camera with LED flash, OIS
w/ front-facing camera
Android 4.2.2 Jellybean
3,000mAh battery
143g (weight)
138.5 x 70.9 x 8.9 mm (dimensions)
Accessories will be made available for the phone as well, such as the QuickWindow case, which will enable you to control simple tasks on your phone without actually having to fully turn it on.
The phone will be available in black & in white colors only. Date of & price at launch is still unknown as of the moment, but it will slowly roll out internationally soon.

Huwag nyo ng hintayin dumating yan dito. Dati namimili ako sa SGS3, HTC One X at LG 4X HD, inannounce na nila Optimus G at lahat, wala pa 4X HD dito. At ang malala wala kahit isang update nung dumating. LOL. Buti na lang One X ang binili ko. Hanggang 4.2 na lang yan LG G2 for sure dahil after a few months, maglalabas na naman ng bagong flagship yan. I’m more than happy with my S4 now. Was happy with Note 2 pero nakakapagod din gumamit ng malaking phone.

I really like this phone. I waited for the G PRO but it didnt happen for me so I went for S4.
Im hoping for an early release of this phone here in the country. I am a fan of LG display as much as I am a fan of Samsung amoled’s so Im going to look out for this. I like the slim bezel as well and the huge battery.

LG G2 | Learning from Samsung
XTN says:
Tingin ko baliktad na yan ngaun. Apple na gumagaya kay samsung. Remember when Samsung launched the s3 with 4.8in screen. Everybody made a buzz that its too big to be a smartphone but there you are. Companies following its footsteps and not to mention apple would be launching somewhat a bigger screen too..
