Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra now with Galaxy Ai

There’s no doubt that Samsung’s One UI OS is arguably if not, one of the best when it comes to Android interfaces. With the launch of One UI 6.1, the brand introduced a bunch of AI systems that help make life easier for Samsung users called Galaxy AI.

We saw these AI features first during the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 earlier this year, which you can check out on the website. This time around, we’ll be taking a deeper look into Galaxy AI.

But instead of a Galaxy smartphone, we’re going to see just how capable Galaxy AI is on Samsung’s flagship tablet – the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra.

The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra

Before we go in-depth into Galaxy AI, let’s talk more about the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra.

The new Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and Ultra tablets are the brand’s successors to the Galaxy Tab S9 series and were only launched in October this year.

Like before, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is the biggest and most capable model in the lineup. No doubt it is the flagship tablet based on the specs alone.

Speaking of specs, there’s a huge 14.6-inch screen that uses a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 2960 x 1848 resolution or pretty much a WQXGA+ display, which is a wide-screen version of QXGA, which (I’m sure you guys are wondering at this point,) means Quad Extended Graphics Array.

With this resolution, we get a 16:10 aspect ratio, similar to what we’d find in most laptops today. There’s also a 120Hz refresh rate, and exquisitely thin bezels all around, giving you smooth animations whether you’re watching videos, browsing various websites, or playing games; giving users a better viewing experience. It also helps when you’re drawing stuff using the S-Pen.

But the viewing experience is just one part of the equation. It also comes with loud and crisp Stereo speakers that support Dolby Atmos. Perfect for quick Netflix movie dates at a cafe or something. The screen is coated with a nice anti-glare layer which helps when using the tablet outdoors or against the light.

While the size is similar to that of a laptop, you won’t have a hard time bringing this around. It’s still very thin measuring just 5.4mm and weighing only 718 grams without the case or other accessories.

If you use it outdoors, no need to worry about the weather since it also comes with an IP68 protection for dust and water resistance. It’s also bathtub approved, but of course, try not to submerge it under water.

Under the hood, it packs a punch too. The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 9300+ chipset. Depending on the configuration, you can order it with up to 16GB of memory and 1TB of internal storage. Although there are 12GB RAM options with either 256 or 512GB of storage available.

What’s crazy is, that if 1TB is still not enough storage for everything you’ll be working on, there’s a dedicated microSD card slot that allows us to expand storage by up to 1.5TB.

Samsung Tab S10 Ultra

Some of you might be wondering why Samsung opted to use a Dimensity chip instead of their usual Snapdragon units, well the Dimensity 9300+ adds an 8% increase in CPU, 28% increase in GPU and 14% increase in NPU performance.

We’ve run the benchmark scores, and the numbers are still very impressive as you’ll see below.

Antutu – 1,947,384
PC Mark Work 3.0 – 15,841
3D Mark Wild Life – Maxed Out

Geekbench 6
Single Core CPU – 2,040
Multi Core  CPU – 7,007
Open CL GPU – 12,349
Vulkan GPU – 14,234

So there’s no need for you to worry about performance whether it’s for productivity or even gaming.

While we often make fun of tablets and their cameras here, the cameras on the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra are quite decent. It’s not just for taking photos of documents!

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra 52

At the rear it sports a dual camera setup – a 13MP main shooter and an 8MP ultrawide. But what’s more impressive are the dual front cameras.

We get two 12MP selfie cameras, one is a standard selfie, while the other is an ultrawide selfie.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra 51

Best of all, the cameras record at 4K@30FPS for both the front and rear.

It also packs a big battery to boot – an 11,200mAh battery pack, which is one of the biggest we can find in a tablet today. It lasts a relatively long time too – 11 hours and 40 minutes based on PC Mark’s Work 3.0 benchmark. On top of that, we have 45W of fast charging at our disposal.

But perhaps the highlight of the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is the OS – OneUI 6.1 with Galaxy AI, and it’s our main focus for today.

It’s the same system found in the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6, and other Galaxy devices!

What you can do with Galaxy AI

There are a lot of features that Galaxy AI offers that can help make life easier for Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra users. Perhaps our personal favorite is the Sketch to Image function.

While we were able to try it out on the Galaxy Z Flip 6, it’s a lot easier and better on the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. It does have a bigger screen, and it’s easier to draw with the pen at your disposal.

As someone who’s really bad at drawing, the Sketch to Image function helps a lot. I can just draw a rough image of what I want, and let Galaxy AI do the rest of the work.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra 36

For example, I want to try drawing Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon. I can use him as a reference, but it’s still not the best. I’m sure a professional illustrator or even someone with more artistic flair can do better. But at least you can somewhat tell it is Toothless…I hope.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra 34

Although with Galaxy AI, we can turn that into a puppy? Well, I guess my drawing is indeed that bad. But if I draw a regular dragon, you get some amazing dragon images, and there’s a lot of detail too.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra 42

So even someone who’s bad at arts and illustrations can utilize Galaxy AI to turn what they see in their imaginations into something a bit closer to reality.

Aside from the drawing, Galaxy AI can also make your work or school life more productive. With Samsung Note Assist, taking down notes is now a lot easier. It helps streamline the note-taking process and even automatically formats it for you.

Samsung Tab S10 Ultra 1

Best of all, there’s now a transcription function, perfect if you’re too lazy to jot down notes for lectures or for some reason, incapable due to being information overloaded!

Let Note Assist do most of the heavy lifting and summarize the important points. Outside of lectures and meetings, there’s also a cool Dialogue Boost feature perfect to use for dialogue-heavy content like a podcast. It can also be helpful when playing back lectures or for work meetings.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra 44

Received a PDF file in a foreign language? Note Assist can also translate them too! Perfect if you’re doing research and the source materials in a foreign language.

A feature we found ourselves using the most is Google’s Circle to Search function.

Samsung Tab S10 Ultra 5

During my free time, I like browsing through social media to check out the latest shoes, streetwear trends, and car builds to keep my style and image up to date. I’d find a nice pair of Jordans or maybe even a set of wheels and aero, but wouldn’t exactly be sure what model they were.

That’s where Circle to Search helped out a lot. I just drew a circle around the object, and Google gave him more information about it.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra 29

Plus with the S Pen, we don’t even need to touch the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. There’s a cool feature called Air Command with AI that allows users to instantly access Galaxy AI features without having to toggle between menus.

When the S Pen isn’t in-use, we can also toggle the AI features using the Galaxy AI key on the keyboard. From there, we can choose between Samsung’s Bixby or Google’s Gemini to write whatever prompt we want, giving end-users a more tailored generative AI experience.

Speaking of Bixby, end-users may also want to try the in-house Samsung Internet browser because we get some useful Galaxy AI features here too!

Samsung Tab S10 Ultra

Once Samsung Internet is launched, tapping the Galaxy AI symbol allows us to translate websites in foreign languages into our native language, although no Filipino just yet.

If you’re someone like me who doesn’t like to read a long article, then Summarize is your best friend. With Summarize, you can have the browser (as the name implies)  summarize everything for you with all the important points in bullet format. From there, you can see whether you want to read the entire thing in detail.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra 8

While not necessarily an AI feature, there’s also Samsung’s Dex mode. Given the size of this tablet, we may want to use it with a mouse and keyboard instead of using it like a traditional smart tablet.

With Dex Mode, we can easily switch between the two modes depending on what we feel like.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra 9

I mean, you wouldn’t want to draw with a PC-like interface right? The tablet interface is a lot more convenient for drawing and all other artistic projects you might want to work on.

At the same time, typing documents and getting work done is a lot harder when in a full tablet mode, especially when we have the keyboard already.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra 28

Conclusion

With all of the AI features end-users have at their fingertips, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra definitely makes sense if we’re in the market for a large high-powered 14-inch Android tablet.

Not only can we get work done much faster with it, but we also have all the Galaxy AI features to make life a little simpler.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra 12

When we aren’t working, we also get a very powerful tablet for gaming or binge watching our favorite shows or movies on a portable and beautiful AMOLED display.
