OnePlus unveils OxygenOS 15: here’s a list of eligible devices

OnePlus has officially announced its OxygenOS 15 based on the latest Android 15.

Aside from the new design tweaks, the new OS gets more AI-powered features. These include Google’s Circle to Search and Gemini, AI Reply, AI Assistant for Notes, Pass Cam, Intelligent Search, and more.

In this new iteration, OnePlus pays subtle homage to the old glory days of OxygenOS. OxygenOS 15 brings back the signature black, white, and red theme, aptly named ‘two-tone’ theme — apparent in the Settings icons and the control panel.

Speaking of the control panel, in OxygenOS 15, the notifications panel and the quick settings panel are now separate. This works similarly to HyperOS, which also lets users switch panels with just a swipe. Fortunately, users can still choose the old notifications panel.

Customization gets even better with ‘Flux Themes,’ which allow for more extensive lock screen and wallpapers personalization. Shelf widgets also get a revamp with more colorful gradients and cleaner fonts.

There’s also ‘Live Alerts’ that very much looks like Apple’s Dynamic Island. This isn’t new on OxygenOS but previous iterations have the pill-shaped dynamic notification on the left rather than integrated into the notch.

Oxygenos 15 Share With Iphone

Sending files from Android to iPhone also gets much more convenient with OnePlus’s new sharing feature. An iPhone user just needs to install an extra app called O+ Connect on the App Store to enjoy this feature. And it doesn’t apply any sort of compression when sending or receiving files.

Oxygenos 15 Parallel Processing

One nice under the hood improvement is snappier animations when launching apps thanks to what OnePlus calls ‘Parallel Processing’. This basically lets each app run its own set of animation renderings at the same time when trying to switch so quickly between apps.

Then, there’s Open Canvas, previously exclusive to the brand’s foldable phones, is expanding to bar-type phones. This feature allows for easy switching two apps in split-screen (with one app covering most of the screen).

Lastly, they reduced the system footprint by 20% — over 5GB less — making OxygenOS 15 lighter (in storage) as compared to previous iteration.
