Netflix has announced to cut monthly subscription cost for its Basic and Standard plans in the Philippines starting February 21.
The Basic Plan will now cost Php 249 per month instead of Php 369, while the Standard Plan will cost Php 399 instead of Php 459.
Current subscribers will also benefit from the price cut, with Netflix automatically rolling out the updated pricing on their next billing cycle.

It’s worth noting that the only difference between the Basic Plan and the Standard Plan is the video quality and resolution, with the former at 720p and the latter at 1080p. All other features, such as device compatibility, remain the same.
Here’s an overview of the available Netflix subscriptions in the Philippines:
Meanwhile, the Mobile Plan and Premium Plan will retain their monthly subscription cost of Php 149 and Php 549, respectively.
This move is quite necessary as Netflix faces stiff competition from other streaming services such as Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, and HBO GO, which offer monthly subscription prices in the range of P149 to P369.
Netflix’s recent anti-password sharing 695 measures in the US have also put off subscribers, and similar implementation is expected in the Philippines soon.
