Samsung Galaxy Quantum 5 Launched with Quantum Security Chip

Samsung has just launched the Galaxy Quantum 5, Exclusive variant of the Galaxy A55, for the South Korean market in collaboration with SK Telecom and ID Quantique.

The main highlight of the Galaxy Quantum 5 is its Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) chip from ID Quantique, which enhances security for online banking and sensitive data.

In a nut shell, the Quantum 5 is equipped with a QRNG chip that uses quantum physics to generate truly random numbers, creating encryption and decryption processes more secure by reducing the chances of outside interference and tampering.

This new chip sets the Quantum 5 apart from the standard Galaxy A55, by providing an extra layer of security that’s particularly valuable for protecting biometrics and passwords data.

Well, Aside from its enhanced security, the Galaxy Quantum 5 shares many features with the Galaxy A55.

The device also sports a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Full HD+ resolution, and HDR10+ support.

It is powered by the Exynos 1480 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage, and runs on Android 14, with a promised of four major OS updates.

Now In terms of camera modules, the Galaxy Quantum 5 is equipped with a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 32MP selfie front-facing camera, all can record 4K videos at 30fps.

It also boasts stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and an aluminum frame with glass protection on both sides, plus a certified IP67 for dust and water resistance.

The Galaxy Quantum 5 packs a 5,000mAh battery supporting 25W fast charging. While connectivity features include 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and USB Type-C.

Currently, the Galaxy Quantum 5 is available exclusively in South Korea through SK Telecom, priced at KRW 618,200 (approximately PHP 26,300USD 448INR 37,993EUR 427CNY 3,264).

It comes in three colorsways: Awesome Ice Blue, Awesome Lilac, and Awesome Navy. Unfortunately, it won’t be available outside of South Korea.

No words yet if Korea will launch a device similar with this in other countries and applies exclusive partnership with other telcos.
