Last week’s MacBook Pro M4 27 announcement showcased 16GB of unified memory as a standard for base models. Now, Apple is doing the same treatment for the MacBook Air M3 and M2 models.

As seen on the Apple Philippines’ official website, the listings are now indeed updated to having 16GB of unified memory as a standard across all models — doubled from the previous 8GB.

While this is great news for many, those who recently purchased previous M3 and M2 MacBook Air models with 8GB RAM may be disappointed. The resale value of these models could decrease due to the availability of new 16GB models at the same price.
