ASUS Vivobook S 15: Personalized Learning Made Easy

The ASUS Vivobook S 15 offers cutting-edge AI features as a Snapdragon X Elite-powered laptop. It’s currently establishing itself as an asset that could heavily streamline productivity by making tasks easier than ever.

Reviewing the device myself, I imagined I could’ve used this a ton during my time in college. From experience, it certainly made research easier as a Copilot+ PC.

However, it’s got a lot to prove as a relatively fresh release. So, we took the liberty to unpack a number of features that it offers.

In this feature, I’ll cover how the Vivobook can provide users with a personalized learning experience. With the growing trend of using AI in schools, I’m here to help make learning smarter and not harder.

Copilot on Windows

The Vivobook features a dedicated Copilot button that directs users to an app that caters to prompts.

I’m sure a good number of readers have used ChatGPT or Gemini, so access to Copilot begs a question. How good is it?

Frankly, Copilot surprised me. Outside of work, I had to study space solutions for offices for a separate project. So, I asked Copilot if it could help me understand the pros and cons between solid or glass partitions.

The program gave me short, digestible bullets to answer my prompt. It was able to do so in a quick, timely manner as well. This was appreciated since I was a bit unfamiliar to the subject, and I needed something short and sweet on-the-go.

Personally, I’m not big on using AI tools for writing myself. Then again, I don’t mind it either if the tool itself can give me the gist of what I need.

Likewise, I believe that this could definitely help users find their stride by getting information in a different way. It’s quite nice to have different means to digest online material.

Plus, Copilot can also find you references for study material should you need it. Some of the answers even provide a link to help point you to where you need to go online.

The tool doesn’t stop with research either. Should a user need images for a presentation or article thumbnail, Copilot comes through.

The program can use AI to generate images that you can save for personal use. Full disclosure though, it does have limits. Copilot has a content policy to prevent misuse.

To elaborate, you can’t make the program generate an image of something absurd like Luka Doncic doing a backflip. Believe me, I tried.

Other than that, you should be fine. I used it to generate source material for a thumbnail I needed for an article about budget-friendly smartphones.

Wrapping up, this feature gets two thumbs up from me. It provides a well-rounded shortcut to streamline work that students and professionals alike will surely appreciate.

Live Captions

The Vivobook features AI-powered live captions and resolution adjustments. This should be a game changer for meetings and taking notes aside from having robust image quality.

Live captions provide users with real-time transcriptions from audio during meetings, lectures, and the like. With online classes and hybrid setups becoming more apparent, this should help a lot with backtracking subject matters when needed.

AI Noise Cancellation

The laptop features AI Noise Cancellation technology. It also leverages AI to separate human speech from background noises when needed. You can even personalize this just a tiny bit.

Although, it does need users to jump through a few hoops under settings. First, you need to connect your headset or earbuds first.

I used the latter, and from there you can just click on it via settings and tinker with sound profiles.

Users can choose between Windows Sonic or Dolby Atmos for spatial sound profiles.

In Advanced Settings, you can also play around with how Windows detects audio in calls and such. You can choose between muting all sounds or lowering the volume by 50-80% depending on preference.

Users can leverage this for online meetings, classes, or when one needs to focus. Naturally, noise canceling as a feature makes for an immersive experience.

I certainly have to give a nod to ASUS for managing to make it smarter with flexible options.

Adaptive Dimming

On paper, the Vivobook has a sizable 15.6-inch 3K OLED panel with an 89% screen-to-body ratio.

As mentioned in my review, the display offers vibrant colors and deep blacks complemented by crisp details.

What’s not on paper is its Adaptive OLED Flicker-Free Dimming feature.

It uses AI to adjust brightness levels to reduce eye strain, making for a comfortable viewing experience. It’s usually set at 100%, but I set it slightly above 60% to maintain great image quality.

It doesn’t look like much, but I can see this as a great feature for long, dragged out study sessions. I appreciate the disclaimer in the red text. It advises users with the settings to make the most out of the display brightness in moderation.

You just have to find the balance of what’s bright enough, but if you don’t, the auto-adjustment works as advertised. It’s just nice to have a feature where a user doesn’t have to press F5 and F6 as much.

Auto Super-Resolution

Last but not least, we have Auto Super-Resolution (Auto SR) for game visual enhancements. This is integrated with Windows on a Copilot+ PC with Snapdragon X Series processors.

This feature boosts frame rates and maintains details by lowering the game’s rendering resolution. It leverages AI to provide users with smoother graphics for a better overall gaming experience.

As per our review, the Vivobook isn’t compatible with a ton of games at the moment. However, it does have support for popular titles like Borderlands 3, The Witcher 3, and God of War.

Users can also opt to look at what games they can run with the device via this link.

I know this article is mostly about offering tools for productivity, but a balance between work and play is needed. Luckily for us, ASUS provides and is still developing features to help us achieve this.

Final Thoughts

The ASUS Vivobook S 15 is tailor-made for productive means. It’s slated to be a reliable tool that will benefit students and working professionals alike.
