The new Microsoft Surface Pro has been unveiled as the latest addition to their tablet/laptop hybrid devices. This rendition is the first in a new generation of what Microsoft calls Copilot+ PCs.
The company has also removed the numbers from the model names, suggesting a full reboot of the lineup entirely.
This device also offers a new, optional OLED panel, WiFi 7 support, two USB 4 ports with four color options. The new Surface Pro also offers improved cameras consisting of an ultrawide, quad HD system for AI features, and a 10-megapixel sensor on the back.
The device weighs about two pounds, but otherwise the same size as the previous model.
The new device is powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon X (Elite and Plus) processors. Microsoft added that this new Pro variant is 90% faster than its predecessor. It also has an optional 5G variant, likely coming with Qualcomm support.
For battery life, the company noted that this device offers up to 14 hours of video playback. While this isn’t as good as its marketed 20 hours for the non-Pro model, it’s still a good number media consumption-wise.
The Microsoft Surface Pro starts at USD 999 (PHP 58,202.05), inclusive of an LCD screen, a Snapdragon X Plus processor, and 16GB of RAM with 256GB of storage.
Users can look into the model with the Snapdragon X Elite with an OLED display, but it will cost about USD 1,500 (PHP 87,390.46). At its maxed out variation, the device comes with 32GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, and comes in a platinum colorway for USD 2,100 (PHP 122,346.65)
The launch of the device also saw the introduction of a couple of accessories for the Microsoft Surface Pro. This is inclusive of the new Flex Keyboard and Slim Pen, which works whether attached or detached to the device.
The new iterations of these accessories are slated to be more durable in comparison to previous devices. Microsoft also noted that these come with new options with bold keys, and a slightly larger touchpad.
Microsoft’s Flex Keyboard should be available for about USD 450 (PHP 26,129.70).
