Fujifilm has announced two new cameras today: the FUJIFILM X-T50, a compact mirrorless camera with a 40.2MP sensor, and the FUJIFILM GFX100S II, a large format mirrorless camera with a 102MP sensor.
Table of Contents
The X-T50 is a mirrorless camera aimed at photography enthusiasts who value both image quality and portability. It features a new 40.2-megapixel back-illuminated sensor and the latest X-Processor 5 image processing engine, promising high-resolution images with minimal noise.
The camera also boasts a 5-axis (up to 7-stop) in-body image stabilization (IBIS) for sharper handheld shots.
A standout feature of the X-T50 is the new Film Simulation dial on the top plate. This dial allows users to quickly switch between Fujifilm’s signature color profiles, replicating the look and feel of classic film stocks.
The camera also features a new round-shaped design for improved grip and handling.
Fujifilm touts the X-T50’s versatility, with its compatibility with the newly announced FUJINON XF16-50mm f/2.8-4.8 R LM WR lens, making it suitable for a wide range of shooting situations.
The GFX100S II is the latest addition to Fujifilm’s GFX series of medium format mirrorless cameras. These cameras boast significantly larger sensors than traditional full-frame models, resulting in exceptional image quality and detail.
The GFX100S II lives up to its name, being the lightest camera in the GFX lineup at approximately 883 grams. This makes it a more portable option for photographers who want the benefits of medium format without the bulk.
Despite its compact size, the GFX100S II packs a punch. It features a newly developed 102-megapixel large format sensor paired with the X-Processor 5. The camera also boasts improved autofocus performance with subject detection for animals, birds, and various vehicles. IBIS also gets improved with up to 8-stop, 5-axis performance.
Furthermore, it features 4K/30P video recording capabilities with support for high-quality codecs like Apple ProRes.
