@Marc
I have the same device and all your problems can be solved by doing some little research. I also bought one and I am really happy with my device. For the browser, you could have downloaded Dolphin Browser HD(it has desktop mode built-in) and there’s a simple setting hack for the default Android browser.
For the Market, there’s also a hack but you need to be rooted first.
Having an Android is always an experience because you get to tinker with it. And that’s actually the fun part for me.
Ian says:
I like the iPad 2, but wala pang jailbreak and stuck ka sa itunes to transfer files, unlike android just plug it and transfer files and over the air ang update niya. Unlike honeycomb 3.1nacucustomized siya and it’s like windows pc ang dating niya. True multitasking and they have better cameras like the xoom, transformer and iconia tab. And if you want to install android apps, try niyo applanet or droidappz.org

Marc says:
I bought one when it first came out in the US. It was a frustrating experience since it was heavy, I couldn’t buy apps in the marketplace and the browser kept pulling up the MOBILE versions of websites rather then the desktop versions. To make matters worse lots of the “Free” android apps for phones won’t work on Honeycomb 3.0 (Yahoo Messenger and Adobe Reader, for example)
I concluded that the Honeycomb platform is still too immature for my use. So I ended up selling the tablet. I’m a firm believer in Open Source so I will wait until the platform matures and not give my cash to some closed ecosystem that dictates to you what you can or can’t do with your hardware.
Anti RH Bill says:
Go for Ipad!!! The best tablet now and forever
ry says:
Yeah right closed minded just like your belief in RH Bill –BACKWARDS LOL
ric says:
The apps on the iPad crash constantly, you have to plug it into a a computer to sync podcasts, even to transfer files. Apple’s attempt at multitasking is a major fail. Wifi is so bad (as documented in Apple’s own forums), its frustrating at best. IOS is primitive in comparison to Android – that’s why Andoid phones overtook Apple so quickly. I bought the Acer a few weeks ago and its a breath of fresh air compared to the iPad. I finally realized the iPad really is just a big iPod toy.
Rx says:
Wait for the Asus Transformer launch in the Philippines, I tried the Iconia tab and Transformer side by side and apparently the Asus fits the bill. So I got the Transformer with the dock and updated to Honeycomb 3.1
John says:
19995 lang daw to sa PC Corner..
anyway, i decided to wait for windows 8 tablet.. ilalabas na pa this christmas. LOL
ric says:
Doubt that. For sure there will be delays and you have to wait for the Philippine launch. Add to that you have to wait which OEM can provide better hardware.
AC says:
I think iPad will do.

still undecided what to buy, the ipad2 or this one? Help
Num Lock says:
Kung hanap mo 10hrs battery get an ipod pero kung gusto mo usb port at flash enabled internet mag-android ka. Kung gusto mo naman gumamet ng ms office at windows compatibility, msi windpad ka or better wait for windows 8 tablets next year na gagawin ko eheeheh.
ric says:
I’ll wait for Windows 8 — may Flash din yun . Think of it this way–
Apple approach– overblown big handset approach–meaning pinalaking ipod Touch lang sya
Windows approach–small touch PC
if you want a consumable product for entertainment lang or you want both na may work factor–windows 8 is your choice
Lezuric says:
kung sa Villman yan, mahal pa yan it only means 20k less pa yan… I’ll stick to android than Win8. :P
[email protected] says:
does the full sized USB accept 3g dongles? If it can surf the net with the dongle and can accept mouse and keyboard, this is a winner and will grab one tomorrow!
JM says:
I should see a review first if this will be a great buy.
Jam. says:
Played w/ this one during an Nvidia event. Masgusto ko sya kaysa sa Moto Xoom. No Lags naman nung natry ko, mabilis bilis. The price is competitive too pero nung narelease ang preview Windows 8. I’ve changed my mind. Aantayin ko na lang next year kaysa sa Honeycomb hehehe
wreek888 says:
Looks heavy and big.
jang says:
they really should price this cheaper.
why would people buy this if the ipad has similar price. not trolling here (i have 2 android tablets myself), just that the ipad has a lot more appeal than android tablets to the average consumer.
ry says:
Why would they price it cheaper when it has all the trappings of a well-rounded gadget? Ano palugi? Don’t under estimate the “average consumer” An average consumers knows about USB and most non-techie people do research before buying. Don’t generalize–not most people are like you and your friends. People would say I like an iPad but believe me before shelling out 20k +++ most people would research before parting with their money. Yes, thankfully outside your walled garden most Pinoys ay nag-iisip.
jang says:
it’s so stupidly simple, i dunno why you people don’t get it:
competition, that’s why.
it’s a fact that android tablets compete directly against the ipad.
all I’m trying to say is that, although android is great, apple IS the more popular brand and everyone knows this, otherwise, why would people buy macs when it’s like 2x the price of a windows one? the “walled garden” is surprisingly large, isnt it?
it’s not a matter of what is better (again, android user here!!) it’s a matter of what’s more popular.
Edwin C says:
Iyang iPad, babae lang gumagamit n’yan. At saka laruan lang ‘yan.
jang says:
laruan din naman ang android tablets e. all i use it for is watching videos and reading comics. i can put all the productivity apps i want in there, it still can’t beat a normal windows laptop in terms of productivity software.
main reason for that would be speed, word/excel sure, but it wont be able to run photoshop or premiere or 3ds max at usable speeds. maybe when kal-el comes out but right now all tablets are still mostly just for entertainment purposes
antitanga says:
are you idiot? ipad has lack of features. like flash player and usb port.
jang says:
no need for name calling mr. TANGA, i know that the ipad doesn’t have flash.
but fyi a lack of usb is not that big a deal kc meron namang usb adapter for that.
ones says:
hindi ho lahat ng consumers eh form/appeal over function ang hinahanap. Ipad is an enlarged ipod touch, nuf said.
And putting the words “average consumers” and “apple” in one sentence doesn’t sound right. so ano na lang ang standard ng mga entry level? haha.
garz says:
and the average consumer doesn’t own 2 tablets…
jang says:
umm.. didnt say i was.
Pinoy Persuasion says:
Speak for yourself, don’t claim the AVERAGE CONSUMER unless you are backed up with facts. iPad has a lot of lacking features found in Android tablets and those features are important to other consumers.
jang says:
http://www.southparkstudios.com/full-episodes/s15e01-humancentipad
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FL7yD-0pqZg <– a little exaggerated but pretty much shows the "average consumer"
and a non-techie wouldn't know what feature has what. i have a friend that bought a galaxy s just because the screen is "pretty", not even knowing it's called an amoled screen
ry says:
Wow I hope you are not the average consumer because you’re dumb
John says:
WOW! ang mura…
full size usb is really something!
