Apple now working on a fix to iPadOS 18 bug that bricks M4 iPad Pro models

This week, some users reported their M4 iPad Pro stopped working after updating to iPadOS 18 . In response, Apple pulled the update from affected iPad models and is now working on a bug fix.

According to an internal memo (via MacRumors), Apple acknowledged the bug, which a “small number” of users encountered. The root cause is uncertain, but the bug apparently bricked their iPads after installing the new update.

Furthermore, the company instructed technicians to perform a force restart on a user’s M4 iPad Pro that experienced the issue.

For now, Apple hasn’t mentioned any turnaround time, so it’s best to leave your iPad Pro on iPadOS 17 until the company pushes a bug fix.
