With the announcement of the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 13, Qualcomm says that Xiaomi will be the first to adopt the new chipset as early as next month. Now, a new leak claims that the first smartphone to debut the 7s Gen 3 is the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G.
This is according to some HyperOS source codes as found by XiaomiTime. The Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G has the codename “Amethyst” bearing a model number O16U.
Other details revealed are the camera specs with varying setups depending on the market. One source code suggests a telephoto camera for the global version, while another indicates a macro camera for the Chinese variant.
Furthermore, another report (from TechBoilers) shared an image render of the rumored phone revealing its redesign. There is now a square camera module at the upper center with a significantly pronounced rounded corners.
The Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G is expected to be launched next month in China followed by a global launch in late 2024 or early 2025. For reference, the Redmi Note 13 Series 22 went global in January this year.
