All of my emails are routed to GMail so imagine my frustration when it goes bonkers like this:
According to the official Google Groups (Gmail Help Discussion), it looks like the problem is running for more than 6 hours now.
We are aware of a problem affecting a subset of our users. Our engineers are currently working to find a solution. We expect to have
a fix as soon as we can. We appreciate your patience, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. { Mar 27, 11:07 pm}To clarify, the problem we are referring to in the previous post concerns a percentage of our users seeing ‘Server Errors’ and ‘Oops’
messages when trying to log in to their Gmail accounts. We realize that many of you depend on Gmail to communicate and assure you that all hands are on deck to fix the error. While we do not have an exact time until resolution to offer, this is currently our top priority and we’ll continue to post updates as they become available. { Mar 28, 2:42 am}We have identified the root of this problem and are still working as hard as we can to find a solution. We want to make sure you know that we haven’t forgotten you, and we sincerely apologize for the ongoing inconvenience. {Mar 28, 4:24 am}
A subset of affected users should now have restored access to their accounts, but may experience some mail delivery delays. For those still affected, we’re still working to get you back up and running. {Mar 28, 5:23 am}
And it’s still down until now.
It’s working fine now. But actually, I rarely use my Gmail now ever since Hotmail upgraded to Live Mail which has basically the same feature as to Gmail with much more services because of the “Windows ID” system they have.
i must have been asleep when the downtime occured. when I woke up at 6 something, I was able to check my gmail.
