“There is no Nexus 6. Farewell, Nexus” This is according to the famous tipster @evleaks who just tweeted this a few hours ago. Following this is another entry saying, “Don’t worry, there’s a silver lining to this cloud…” Could it really be the end of the well-loved Nexus line for the introduction of Android Silver?
We’ve previously reported on Android Silver — a rumored support system by Google wherein people can walk in to and have their specially-picked Android smartphones set up and checked when there are problems. In addition, they will also be selling said handsets that will come along with these customer service privileges.
There also have been rumors going around that Android Silver might be replacing the Nexus line to make way for Google Play Edition devices. So @evleaks’ two-fold Twitter post has a great chance of referring to the said reports. Do keep in mind, though, that these are all rumors and still not final. But if you’ve been following @evleaks for a while now you’ll know that most of his tips are spot on.
It would be a shame if Google Nexus 6 would not see the light of day after getting us all excited with its concept image and an alleged LG build. Still, we’ll be waiting for an official announcement and making sure to update you guys so keep on watching this space.

They made the Nexus devices because Google wants you to hop into their cloud…ie rip you off (hence the lack of sd card support)
I guess it didn’t pay off

If the Nexus 6 will not push through- the same model would be sold by LG using a different name.

Sad, but hoping for greater things to come. Maybe nexus6 = google silver one.
ORPHEUS says:
Google are now pushing for ANDROID SILVER (formerly (Google Play Edition) Phones and Tablets.. Hopefully with the Silver Program, other manufacturers can catch up with Samsung.
Looking at what they did to Motorolo (acquired it and eventually selling it to Lenovo)*, my guess is their priorities have changed. maybe they are moving on to other projects such as NEST.
