Google Purchases to beat Paypal?

With the recent discovery of the Google Purchases sign-up page by Tony Ruscoe, we can now be a bit happy to expect Google Wallet to be launched soon.

This rumor has been going around since June when I first posted it last June about initial reports of a potential payment gateway by Google.

Once this service is launched, I bet eBay’s Paypal service will surely be up for a good fight. What more with the fact that Paypal is very restrictive and limits its coverage to mostly Western countries.

Will Google aiming to be one of the major players in international merchant and payment services, things will get a bit busy here in Asia, the Philippines included (hopefully, and rightfully so).

We can all but wait. It should be out soon (some say as early as January 2006).
