Google has finally unveiled its very own social network which it calls Google+ (Google Plus) and it’s currently available as an Android App and on the Mobile Web with the iPhone App coming soon.
It’s something that can be considered an alternative to Facebook (pretty obvious ain’t it?). See this video demo to get familiarized with the social network:
Problem though is that you can’t search it in the Android Market or even if you go straight to the link, you get this message:
Google+ (Google Plus) is still in active development and not yet available to everyone. You need an invitation to sign in.
So okay, they announce something that you can’t easily join and posted an App you can’t download. Now that’s a bummer.
You can try to download the app here (if you can).

It is currently not available in the Philippines.

This looks interesting. hope they have already learned from the failed buzz and wave.
jdGONEMAD says:
so, if it were to be available in pc/laptop web browsers, will companies add Google to their blocked sites for social media???
J says:
I can see the install button on the linked webpage but it tells me that my account is not associated with any android device. Which is the case.
Is this the same for everyone (the presence of the install button)? Or does it mean I can join if only I had an android?

The service is unfortunately on a private beta with limited invites and territories. The Philippines is sadly not included.
I can’t wait to try out the service! I left Friendster because it got too cluttered with spam for Multiply. That site also later got cluttered so I moved to Facebook, which is now going that same route.
Google+ seems to have this issue addressed with Circles.

Looks good! Facebook suddenly looked like MySpace/Friendster. Hehe.
Here’s the link for the future web app: http://www.google.com/+
It’s cool that they already have it in Filipino. Mukhang ma-open na rin sa atin ito soon. :D
