Gamers in 2023 have so much to look forward to with plenty of new games coming out on all platforms.
So today we’ll be checking out 10 highly anticipated games coming this 2023 and see what they’re all about. Let’s get to it!

If you’re a big fan of the Nintendo Switch, then you’d be familiar with the follow-up to the Legend of Zelda series with Tears of the Kingdom.
Nintendo has even released a special edition Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Nintendo Switch OLED just for the game.
With many considering Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild one of the greatest games of all time on the Switch, Tears of the Kingdom will give fans of the series a new adventure to look forward to with new lands above Hyrule.
The original Marvel’s Spider-Man was released way back in 2018 and was touted as one of the best superhero video games of all time.
Sony and Insomniac followed that up with a Miles Morales-centered Spider-Man game back in 2020 and it saw equal praise and success.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was originally revealed back in 2021 and now we’ll get to see both Peter Parker and Miles Morales work hand in hand to face off against new villains including Harry Osborn, Kraven the Hunter, and Venom.
Street Fighter 6 is the newest entry to the beloved franchise with a 7-year hiatus since Street Fighter 5 was released back in 2016.
The game itself is said to feature three different game modes with Fighting Ground for the classic Street Fighter action, Battle Hub for multiplayer battles both local and online, and a new single-player story mode called World Tour.
So far 18 characters are confirmed during its launch with 6 new characters being introduced to the franchise. Of course, fan favorites such as Chun Li, Ken, Ryu, and Zangief will be part of the game.
Activision Blizzard’s classic action RPG makes a return in Diablo IV while bringing new open-world and PvP gameplay features.
Diablo IV also has some big shoes to fill due to the fact that some were not as impressed with the previous Diablo Immortal video game. With the creators hoping for Diablo IV to return to its roots.
Diablo 4 sees players go up against the main antagonist Lilith while being one of five classes such as Barbarian, Sorceress, Druid, Rogue, or Necromancer.
Final Fantasy has always had a special place in gamers’ hearts and with the latest installment Final Fantasy XVI coming soon, players will get to enjoy the latest creation of Naoki Yoshida.
The game sees an action-RPG combat system similar to Final Fantasy XIV, XV, and the Final Fantasy VII remake over the classic turn-based battles with its combat director Ryota Suzuki who is most known for his work on the Devil May Cry series.
FF16 will see players play as the game’s protagonist, Clive Rosfield, following him in three distinct periods in his life set in Valisthea whilst at war with the Eikons and Ifrit, a dark Eikon.
One of the most anticipated games from Bethesda Game Studios and Todd Howard is Starfield.
Howard described the game as “Skyrim in space” with over 1,000 planets across 100 systems to explore, the game is said to be Bethesda’s biggest game yet with expectations for it to be its new classic title.
The game itself is a sci-fi action RPG where players get to choose their characters, spaceships, and gadgets while being able to do things such as join factions, recruit characters, and accomplish quests.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is highly anticipated as Ubisoft looks to bring the game back to its roots by ditching RPG elements found in recent Assassins’ Creed titles.
As Mirage looks to go back to what made the franchise so famous by being an action-adventure with its focus on stealth, parkour, and assassinations.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set in 19th century Baghdad, 20 years before Assassin’s Creed Valhalla took place.
The game will follow Basim along with his mentor Roshan as he trains to become a Hidden One in order to seek answers and meaning.
You know the upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is worth getting excited for when Superman himself Henry Cavill is a big fan of the franchise.
The game is a follow-up to the 2011 third-person shooter that sees the continuing journey of Titus, the captain of the Ultramarines, who looks to be now a Primaris Assault Marine.
The trailer for the game shows Titus fighting off a hoard of Tyranids in a bloody fashion with his mighty chain sword along with other weapons in the game such as the Boltgun, Thunder hammer, and Power sword.
The follow-up to one of the most popular Metroidvania games of recent years is coming in the form of Hollow Knight: Silksong.
The game will see players play as Hornet, a nimble and agile character who was previously an antagonist in the original Hollow Knight game traverse the 2D landscape and explore the unfamiliar kingdom.
What’s impressive is that Team Cherry, who are the developers of Hollow Knight: Silksong, is simply just a team of three people.
Although the game doesn’t have an official release, it is confirmed to be part of a day one Xbox Game Pass title set to release by June 12, 2023.
The much-anticipated sequel to one of the original and most popular multiplayer first-person shooters is coming soon in Counter-Strike 2.
Currently, the game is open to select limited users for testing and when the game does go official, Valve has stated that all items and skills from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive should carry over.
The new Counter-Strike 2 showcased new maps, features, and improvements such as smoke grenades that adapt to environmental conditions such as lighting, gunfire, or explosions.
Some other notable mentions that were already released earlier this year were Hogwarts Legacy, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, Horizon: Call of the Mountain, Dead Island 2, Minecraft Legends, and Redfall, all of which have received high praise for their immersive gameplay.
Other notable games to look forward to this 2023 are Alan Wake 2, Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, Forza Motorsport, Baldur’s Gate 3, and many more.
We were also looking forward to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which in fact was supposed to be launched in 2023 but has since been delayed for an early 2024 release.
