On the surface, internet speeds from all ISPs’ primary offerings have been slightly, if not significantly, faster than before. In particular, plans starting at PHP 1,500USD 26INR 2,225EUR 25CNY 187 offer at least 300 Megabits per second (Mbps) of internet speed — that’s double the speed from at least two to three years ago.

Additionally, these plans have surpassed 1000 Mbps, or up to 1 Gigabit per second (Gbps) of internet speed, which, as you’d expect, are offered in each ISP’s most expensive fiber internet plan. Globe Telecom even offers speeds up to 1.5 Gbps, but at a hefty price of PHP 7,499USD 128INR 11,121EUR 124CNY 935 monthly.

You may also notice the “speed boost,” particularly from PLDT, offering significantly faster speeds compared to other ISPs’ plans in the same price range.

For example, PLDT’s Fiber Unli Plan 2099 has a speed boost of 700 Mbps, which is faster than Globe’s GFiber Plan 1999 or Converge’s FiberX 2000 peso plan — both of which are capped at 500 Mbps. While the faster internet speeds are certainly good news, sadly for PLDT users, this so-called “speed boost” is only valid for a limited time and will go back to regular speeds once the promo lapses.

Weirdly enough, SKY’s TruFiber plans’ speed boosts aren’t anything special because they’re not actually faster than the competition. Apparently, these SKY boosted speeds only match those of other ISPs at similar price points.

Take the TruFiber Plan 1500, for example: its regular speed is capped at 200 Mbps, and while its speed boost reaches 300 Mbps, that’s exactly the same speed as Converge’s FiberX 1500 peso plan. We’ll discuss these speed boosts in more detail later in this article.

Perhaps what these ISPs all have in common nowadays is the inclusion of streaming subscriptions such as Netflix and Disney+. Notably, the streaming options vary by telco company: Netflix is offered by both PLDT and Converge, while Disney+ is solely available through Globe. SKY, however, doesn’t offer these inclusions for now.

Of the four telco companies, only Globe bundles Disney+ by default with its GFiber plans. As for PLDT and Converge, they offer Netflix bundles either in separate plans or as an “add-on” to customers’ existing internet plans.

Moving on, let’s now take a closer look at each ISP’s fiber internet plans.

PLDT

Starting with PLDT, they offer some of the most flexible plans out of the bunch. Their Unli Fiber plans start at PHP 899USD 15INR 1,333EUR 15CNY 112 per month, capped at 35 Mbps, and go as high as PHP 9,499USD 163INR 14,087EUR 157CNY 1,185 for 1 Gbps. Interestingly, its Fiber Unli Plan 2699 also offers 1 Gbps of internet speed, but that’s because of the time-limited speed boost.

According to PLDT, eligible customers can get a “free speed upgrade” for a period of six (6) months from the date of service activation. After that, customers’ fiber plans revert to their regular speeds, and this makes us think that this is just a marketing strategy

For one, the speed boost promo itself is also being offered at a limited time with validity period set until March 31, 2025. And second, the base Fiber Unli Plan 899 doesn’t even come with the speed boost — enticing customers to opt for the plan above it, which offers a significantly faster 100 Mbps starting speed.

Notably, the speed boost applies to other PLDT plans as well, so customers… enjoy it while it lasts.

Speaking of other PLDT fiber plans, the Fiber Unli All includes a free Cignal cable TV subscription and Netflix Standard plan for a 1080p viewing experience.

There’s also the standalone Fiber Netflix Plan 1599, which comes with both Cignal cable and a Netflix subscription albeit a Basic plan with only 720p content.

Globe Telecom

Next, we have Globe Telecom, which probably has the simplest lineup among them all. Currently, the company offers just five postpaid plans within its GFiber service.

All GFiber plans are bundled with access to Blast TV and Disney+ inclusions — with the base GFiber Plan 1499 having Basic Annual plan for Full HD content and subsequent plans come with Premium Annual plan that offers 4K Ultra HD content.

Globe doesn’t run any speed boost promo for now, but their offerings don’t fall short against the competition either. Additionally, Globe’s the only telco company that offers up to 1.5 Gbps through GFiber Plan 7499 which significantly costs less in contrast to PLDT’s Fiber Unli Plan 9499.

It’s also worth mentioning other inclusions that come with GFiber Plan 2799 and above such as a PHP 5,000USD 86INR 7,415EUR 82CNY 624 TPLink voucher (your guess is as good as mine), a free one-time visit from Globe’s HomeSquad service, and access to VIP hotline.

Converge

Then, there’s Converge that offers some of the most competitive plans we’ve seen in recent memory, at least on paper.

Its FiberX plans start at PHP 1,500USD 26INR 2,225EUR 25CNY 187 for 300 Mbps and just add a couple of thousand pesos more (at PHP 3,500USD 60INR 5,191EUR 58CNY 436) and you now have access to 1 Gbps of internet speed.

Converge can also get pretty flexible. There are the so-called Time of Day Plans starting at PHP 1,699USD 29INR 2,520EUR 28CNY 212 with either speed of 200 Mbps or up to 400 Mbps and vice-versa depending on the user’s setup. There’s also the Plan 3000 offering 600Mbps up to 800 Mbps.

Next, there are Netflix bundles that also serve as optional upgrades for those subscribed to FiberX Plan 1500. Depending on how much media quality a customer is willing to get, the higher the price.

Netflix Premium, which offers 4K Ultra HD media viewing, comes bundled with FiberX for PHP 2,298USD 39INR 3,408EUR 38CNY 287 monthly.

If you go and check the actual Premium plan pricing on the Netflix website, it is actually just priced at PHP 549USD 9INR 814EUR 9CNY 68 per month. The excess cost? Well, the 200 Mbps speed boost — on top of the regular 300 Mbps — justifies it.

Speaking of speed boost, Converge also has “Boost Mode” promo on all its offerings but the company went a different route and it’s actually something nice.

According to a report from the Daily Tribune, the said Boost Mode promo has been made permanent since October 2024, and we hope it stays that way.

Converge also offers something for competitive gamers with its GAMECHANGER plans that start at PHP 2,500USD 43INR 3,708EUR 41CNY 312 and go as high as PHP 5,000USD 86INR 7,415EUR 82CNY 624 per month.

What’s special about this lineup are the inclusions dedicated to enhancing users’ gaming experience. For starters, the plans are bundled with gaming routers and the higher the price tier, the better the equipment.

These also come with connectivity optimizations such as low jitter, low latency, and low packet loss.

SKY Broadband

Lastly, we have SKY and yes, it is still pretty much alive even after turning down the supposed PLDT acquisition last year.

SKY has two main lineups under its TruFiber service, starting at Plan 999 with 75 Mbps — which actually sounds better than PLDT’s Unli Fiber Plan 899 that offers only 35 Mbps.

SKY also runs speed boost promo from Plan 1500 and beyond. However, this only applies to new customers who avail SKY TruFiber plans until May 31, 2025.

There are also Day or Night Plans starting at PHP 1,699USD 29INR 2,520EUR 28CNY 212 for 300 to 500 Mbps and PHP 3,000USD 51INR 4,449EUR 49CNY 374 for 700 Mbps up to 1 Gbps vice-versa.

If you’re wondering about any entertainment bundles, SKYcable also lives although it goes by a new name, SKY TV — which starts at Plan 99 up to Plan 499 on top of any TruFiber plan. With this add-on users can get up to 90 cable channels, however it comes with installation fee of PHP 2,800USD 48INR 4,152EUR 46CNY 349 per Sky TV box.

Final Thoughts

To wrap this up, the landscape of fiber internet plans in the Philippines has evolved significantly, offering faster speeds, more competitive pricing, and added perks across all major ISPs.

Whether you’re looking for high speed connectivity, entertainment bundles, or plans tailored to specific needs like gaming or flexibility, PLDT, Globe, Converge, and SKY all have compelling options.

The key is to choose a plan that aligns with your internet habits and your set budget. As you explore your options, just remember to keep an eye on the fine print — speed boosts and promos can be tempting, but they often come with limitations.

Just like how ISPs always say that their internet speeds are “guaranteed to deliver 30% of minimum speed at 80% reliability,” meaning all the numbers you read here aren’t always going to be consistent.

So, carefully weigh the pros and cons before making your final decision.

What about you? Are you currently subscribed to any internet plans? How is the experience so far? Or will you get a new or upgraded internet plan anytime soon? Which one would you rather choose as your internet service provider?

  1. You should cover the prepaid fiber options. I am an an American in Cebu. I had globe postpaid last year. I had to purchase a modem for 5,000 and the service was unreliable. I unhooked it. This year, I got a remote job so I tried the new fiber prepaid. It cost 999 to install and the technicians arrived the next day to hook me up. No charge for the modem, no contract, no ID required. I get 60 MBps down and 50 up with 4 ms latency for 699 per month. I can get a whole years service for 6,999. If I want 100 Mbps service I can just pay 1299 per month. I can also have Disney plus by buying the promo that includes it. Fiber prepaid is superior to internet I had in America for 6 times the price. The low latency really makes my connection feel faster. Gfiber prepaid is all I need and I am very happy with it

  2. hi im ibrahim halis please submitting to report for loptop please call use offices and davao city

  3. Hi, isn’t your banner pricing is kind of misleading? Can you check the plan 1499, on tge banner its 35MBps but on tge detailed specs on the body is 300Mbps. Strange isn’t it?

  4. We have updated the article 🙏

  5. Speed is useless if the connection is intermittent… Still buffers when watching YouTube Premium on the Google TV regardless of resolution ether connected by LAN or Wifi.
