4 Livestreaming apps you probably haven’t tried yet

One of the most popular things to do online these days is doing live broadcasts. Anyone can livestream using Facebook Live, Youtube, Instagram TV, and such and while we do have those mainstream services, there are other apps out there that users have possibly not tried yet. BIGO Live

On BIGO Live, numerous users livestream their activities, whether it’s them singing, dancing, eating, or playing games. BIGO also has a video call feature, in which friends can start a 1:1 video chat or create a group chat with up to 9 people. Bigo also offers a voice chat room for users to connect with others across the globe. Stickers and video filters may be used alongside the chat features. Other popular live broadcasts on BIGO include vlogs, Live PK games, and streaming of games such a PUBG and LOL.

Kumu

A homegrown local app founded in 2017, Kumu thrives on user-generated livestreams, and features live game shows such as Quiz Mo Ko, Pinoys Doing Stuff, and others where audiences can win prizes, monetary or otherwise. Majority of the users in the platform are Filipinos, building up their very own ‘Kumunity’ and interacting with others. For others who prefer to hang out instead, Kumu also encourages users to explore various live streamers, meet, and play games with them.

Chums Live

Chums Live is another Filipino-based live broadcast social networking app. Users are referred to as ‘Chummies,’ with the majority of them showcasing their singing and dancing talents by livestreaming through the app. Fans of Chummies may give their favorites virtual gifts such as flowers and hearts, and interact with them and others in real-time through the chat feature during live streams.

NiMO TV

First launched in Singapore, Malaysia, and other Southeast Asian countries, NiMO TV was made available in the Philippines in 2018. Unlike the other app in this article, NiMO TV is primarily a streaming app for gamers. Users may stream plays of PUBG, Mobile Legends, Dota 2, Rules of Survival, among others, and can interact with their viewers via the real-time chat in broadcasts. The app also features livestreams of esports events and tournaments and has partnerships with both novice and veteran gamers.
