First up is the MacBook Air M1 which launched in 2020. It can now be considered an entry-level MacBook model but it is still one of the most powerful laptops out there. I’m still using one heavily for browser-based work and it proves to be a reliable workhorse.

Apple introduced the Macbook Air M2 in 2022. It features a new design, a screen with a notch, new colors, and a more powerful chipset. This is a recommended model for those who want the performance improvements of the M2 chip but don’t want to go ‘Pro’ yet.

You have plenty of options if ever you decide to with the Pro models. If you don’t mind having a small screen and are on a budget, you can start with the MacBook Pro 13 M2.
