The Galaxy Note 10 series comes in two variants; there’s the standard Note 10, and the bigger Note 10+ (Plus). While called the standard version, the Note 10 comes with an already huge 6.3-inch display. The Note 10+ takes it to another level by having a 6.8-inch display. Not only that, both models have an HD+ dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O screen, and are both HDR10+ certified. The devices have very little bezels surrounding the screen as the front camera is situated in a hole-punch placement. The Note 10 has a screen resolution of 2280 x 1080, while the Note 10+ has a resolution of 3040 x 1440 pixels.
The Note 10 series joins the ranks of smartphones to sport Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset, Snapdragon 855. The chipset boasts powerful Kryo 485 CPU, Adreno 640 GPU, and Snapdragon X24 LTE with support for 5G connectivity. The standard Note 10 pairs SD855 with 8GB of RAM, while the Note 10+ couples it up with a gigantic 12GB RAM. For other markets, however, Samsung is launching the Note 10 series with its very own, newly-announced Exynos 9825, boasting a 7nm EUV process.
Samsung’s Galaxy Note lineup always highlights the S Pen, and the Note 10 lineup isn’t an exception to that. For the new series, the S Pen has undergone a redesign and now comes with a couple more features, such as the ability to convert handwriting to digital text. Users can write in Samsung Notes using the S Pen and have the ability to export their handwritten work into a variety of formats. The S Pen can also be used to trim and edit videos at a precise second, doodle on tracked images with AR Doodle, use it for writing annotation on screen-recorded videos, and the like.
Samsung first introduced the DeX system during the launch of the Galaxy S8 lineup. Through DeX, it allows the Note 10 to connect to a monitor, a mouse, or a keyboard and use those peripherals with mobile apps. File transfer through DeX is also possible with the use of a compatible USB connection between the Note 10 device and a PC or a Mac.
A triple-rear camera setup sits on the back of the standard Note 10, consisting of 16MP ultra-wide + 12MP wide-angle + 12MP telephoto shooters. The Note 10 comes with a live focus video function, adding a depth-of-field adjustment to focus on the subject when taking videos. It also has a Zoom-In Mic, a Super Steady feature to stabilize footage, and Hyperlapse for steady time-lapse videos. Both the Note 10 and Note 10+ also have a Night Mode function, for users to take photos in low-light situations.
Equipped in the Note 10+ is a quadruple rear camera setup. The lenses are pretty much identical to the standard Note 10’s cameras, namely 16MP ultra-wide + 12MP wide-angle + 12MP telephoto snappers. An addition to that is a DepthVision camera, allowing users to scan an object and turn it into a movable 3D rendering.
The Note 10 series features a vapor chamber cooling system to keep the device’s temperature low while gaming. The device also has an AI-based Game Booster that optimizes the performance and power consumption during gameplay. Additionally, it has a feature called PlayGalaxy Link P2P which is a streaming service for users to pick where they left off on any PC game, allowing them to continue gaming on the move.
The Note 10+ carries a 4,300mAh battery capacity that has support for fast charging. Samsung claims that the device can be charged in around 30 minutes. Not only that, but the Note 10+ also supports up to 45W wired charging.
Similar to the Galaxy S10 lineup, both the Note 10 and the Note 10+ are also capable of Wireless PowerShare. This means that the Note 10 series can charge the Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Buds, and other devices that are Qi-enabled.
Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10+ is available in the colors of Aura Glow, Aura White, and Aura Black, while the Galaxy Note 10 comes in the colors of Aura Glow and Aura Black.
