List of Extended Deadlines for Government Agency Filings

To allow the citizens to focus on their health and safety, as well as practice social distancing, several government agencies have extended the deadlines for filing official government documents. Check out the list here:

Bureau of Internal Revenue

The Bureau of Internal Revenue has extended the deadline for filing the 2019 annual income tax returns (ITR) extended by one month, from April 15 to May 15, 2020.

Securities and Exchange Commission

Corporations that have scheduled elections of directors, trustees, or officers scheduled between March 1 and May 31, 2020, that was canceled due to health and safety reasons concerning the Covid-19 disease, may give the Commission a notice within 30 days of the scheduled meeting, along with a new date within 60 days of the initially scheduled date. This is considering that said corporation does not have the means for remote communication.

Companies not holding elections for reasons other than due to the Covid-19 disease will also be required to report the Commission within 30 days of the scheduled meeting, as well as a new date within 60 days of the initially scheduled date.

Land Transportation Office

Due to the enhanced community quarantine in effect, the Department of Transportation has ordered the Land Transportation Office to extend the deadline for driver’s licenses and vehicle registrations to April 30, 2020. Additionally, Temporary Operator’s Permits that expired on March 13, 2020, can be settled within March 13 to April 12 without suspension.

Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board

Alongside LTO, the Department of Transportations has also ordered the LTFRB to extend the deadline for public transport franchises to April 30, 2020.

Department of Foreign Affairs

Operations in the Consular Offices in Luzon are temporarily suspended from March 17, 2020, until further notice. Furthermore, passport deliveries starting with the aforementioned date will be delayed until further notice.

Bureau of Immigration

The following transactions at the Bureau of Immigration in Luzon are suspended from March 17 to April 13:

  • Filing of applications for extension of or conversion to non-immigrant or immigrant visa including hearing or interview
  • Filing of applications regarding Filipino citizenship including RA 9225 including hearing or interview
  • Filing for downgrading of visa status
  • Filing for extension of tourist visa
  • Filing of applications for Special or Provisional Work Permits
  • Filing for the renewal of ACR I-Cards
  • Implementation of BOC approved visa applications for extension of or conversion to non-immigrant or immigrant visas

Department of Trade and Industry

The following DTI services are suspended during the Enhanced Community Quarantine in Luzon:

  • PS/ICC Application
  • Product Testing
  • Application for Sales Promotion
  • Accreditation for:
    • Freight forwarders
    • Service and Repair Shops
    • Certificate of Authority to Import
    • Mediation and Adjudication Appointments
    • Public Hearing on Consumer Policies
    • Diskwento Caravans, Consumer Education Seminars, other advocacy projects
    • PETC Accreditation
  • Issuance of Waiver
  • Registration of Bulk Sales
  • Registration of Merchandise and Ship Broker
  • Accreditation of Truck Rebuilding Centers
  • Execution of Writs

The Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau (FTEB) and the Bureau of Philippine Standards (BPS) will notify concerned individuals of the date of payment and release of permits, licenses, or certificates.

The DTI frontline services will continue from Monday to Friday through online portals.

Philippine National Police

The Philippine National Police has approved protocols on the extension of renewal security guard ID’s and License to Exercise Security Profession (LESP). Additionally, the PNP has also approved the automatic extension of expiring License to Own and Possess Firearm (LTOPF), firearm registration and License to Operate for Firearms of private security agencies until April 14.

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas

From March 16 to April 14, 2020, installment payments for Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas properties are suspended. Acceptance of payments will resume on April 15, 2020. The auction of BSP properties scheduled on March 24 and 31, 2020, is also canceled until further notice.

Quezon City Office

According to a report by ABS-CBN News, Quezon City will be extending the deadline for local taxes and permits due to the quarantine. Included taxes and schedules are as follows:

  • Payment for business taxes, real property, and transfer taxes is extended to April 30, 2020. Discounts will be given to people who pay before April 30.
  • Renewal of business permits are also extended; however, no deadline was given in the post.

Meanwhile, the QC Assessor’s Office has suspended the following transactions starting March 16 to April 14, 2020:

  • Transfer of ownership
  • Segregation or consolidation
  • New assessments
  • Reassessments/Classifications/Correction of Entries and Annotations
  • Fines on late filing of transferred titles will also be waived

Building permit applications will continue online.
