Technology has been developing to prepare us for a time where everything around us is connected to the internet. A lot of companies have been working behind the scenes to make our lives easier. Ecovacs is one of these companies and they’ve brought to the Philippines its new product, the Ecovacs Deebot T9 Robot Cleaner and the CH1918 AES Auto Empty Station for Robot Cleaners.
The Ecovacs Deebot T9 Robot Cleaner is a combined smart vacuum and mop, featuring its new TrueDetect 3D 2.0 and TrueMapping 2.0 technologies to efficiently navigate around your house. It has the OZMO Pro 2.0 mopping technology, a maximum of 3000Pa suction power, and a 420ml dust bin capacity. In an industry first, it also has its own air freshener to differentiate itself from the competition.
In the box, you’ll find the Deebot T9 unit itself, two cleaning brushes, the dust bin, charging station, power cables, a pack of replacement mopping cloths, a fragrance pod, the OZMO mopping attachment and the air freshener attachment. The filter cleaning brush and access to the dustbin container is hidden under the flap on the top of the unit.
If you get the auto-empty station, you’ll also get the vacuum dock and the trash bag container, extra dustbin bags, a small key screw to remove the bottom lids from the vacuum unit, and a separate dust bin that’s compatible with the station.
The outer shell of the vacuum is mostly made of glossy plastic with the sensors strategically placed on the outer edges as well as above the device. Aside from the power button and the sensors, the top is mostly clean as a flap covers the entire device.
Lifting the flap reveals the filter cleaning brush, access to the dustbin container, hardware switch, reset button, WiFi indicator as well as a QR code that allows you to pair the vacuum to your phone via the app.
The front of the device also houses the bump sensor and either the air freshener or the mopping attachment, which can be interchanged depending on your cleaning needs. The air freshener capsule comes in a separate package and is refillable, while the mopping sensor can be filled up with water prior to use.
The bottom of the device contains a couple of spinning cleaning brushes, removable flaps for the auto empty station, navigation wheels, the main vacuum head, and the charging contacts, and the outlet for the air freshener or the mop, depending on the attachment.
Getting the vacuum to work is as easy as setting up the vacuum and powering the charging station on, since most of the control is done using the Ecovacs app that can be downloaded from the app store or the play store. From there, you can start cleaning right away to allow the vacuum to create a map of your house, navigating around all the possible corners and obstacles that it may find along the way.
You can set the vacuum power, water flow level, mopping preference, and the air freshener operation from the app even in the middle of the cleaning process, so you have some level of control over the kind of cleaning power a specific spot needs.
The vacuum was able to create separate maps for the two levels of the house, while being smart enough to avoid falling down the stairs. The app allows you to partition the house into specific rooms, create 3D maps with the furniture laid out according to how the house is set up, and define virtual boundaries to prevent the vacuum from falling down the stairs or wandering into the bathroom.
You can also set the cleaning frequency, schedule and the room sequence that the vacuum will follow. There’s also the option to only clean one specific area of the house as defined in the app.
Additional controls to pause cleaning, return to charger and auto-empty feature is also available.
The device is on the bigger and taller side, so expect that the device will not be able to go under low height beds and tight corners. The mopping technology is able to take care of most of the stains on the floor, but anything harder will require manual spot cleaning.
Aside from those quirks, the vacuum provides a huge relief from the back breaking work of sweeping the house, and the combination of mop and vacuum ensures that the floor is really cleaned up, and the auto-empty station allows you to dispose of the dust and debris safely as Ecovacs guarantees up to 99% filtration rate for its dust bins.
The Ecovacs Deebot T9 retails for PHP 26,990 and the CH1918 Auto empty station for PHP 9,900 and it is available in Shopee.
Unprofessional and unreliable products. Bought Deebot T9 in January 2023, it worked fine for few months and then cleaning became inconsistent. Sent for repair but the cleaning is still inconsistent. Both the customer support and reseller denied further help. Total waste of money for the substandard product and NOT recommended at all!
