Globe Telecom has added 3 new home broadband plans with a 50Mbps plan that costs Php1,899USD 32INR 2,743EUR 31CNY 236 a month.
These are more affordable plans and come with higher data allocation.
Here are the new broadband plans introduced this week:
Aside from the data allocation, there’s also additional 100GB free just for YouTube. As always, these plans (especially the 50Mbps) are subject to availability in your area.

PCPinoy says:
Still with data cap. Good for basic home/personal usage. Quite expensive for the speed, compared to other unlimited plans from other ISPs with same price range.
Bea says:
Which unlimited plans with the same price range are you talking about?
The Rookie Blogger says:
hahahaha what other plans?
PCPinoy says:
for the 1299 – 5Mbps Plan and 1599 for 10Mbps converge ict offers 1500 for 20Mbps fiber connection with no data cap.
All that im saying is the speed is slow for the price but the 50Mbps plan is good for home/personal usage.
kapitan says:
Please give an example yung same price range talaga ah.
EllisCristoph says:
Converge has 25mbps unlimited data for 1500.
uller says:
ano eto sir? LTE?
Abe Olandres says:

Rence says:
jan says:
Wqla na talagang matinong offer. Kahit man lang dagdagan lng ng 200GB ung current plans ngayon wag lang sana bawasan ung speed especially to those areas where fiber optics is still out of reach. Now, its a matter of deciding whether you choose to have 15mbps with 150GB data or you go with the new 10mbps with 500GB data including Youtube. SMH
albert says:
Is this DSL or LTE?
jason says:
dsl lng ba ito, or for lte din
trapik says:
“Akamai reported the average internet in the Philippines for the Q1 of 2017 at 5.5Mbps.”
Then comes these new Globe Broadband plans.
Up to 5, 10, 50 achuchuchuchu
Jan says:
Is Globe a good and reliable ISP? Do you think these plans would be okay if I’m a regular online gamer/social media user?
Lance A says:
Can we upgrade our current plan to these new plans?
kenjie tenyoco says:
GLOBEDECEPTIVE MARKETING! as if matetemp ako sa offer niyo. As long as may data cap si Globe there is always a reason to throttled your bandwidth.
kapitan says:
Not deceptive because Globe is advertising their broadband plans clearly that upon reaching the allocated data allowance, speed will go down to 256Kbps.
Kain load are for those tanga who always subscribe to ringtones, etc
checkmate says:
actually sa pag intindi ko medyo deceptive. the 100GB youtube bandwidth is only good for 6 months. Deceptive in a sense that its not posted on the website that its only good for 6 months. so for example if you get the 1599(400gb + 100gb for youtube) package, the 100gb for youtube is only good for 6months. after that balik na sa 400gb.
Jason says:
Good evening Sir.
Hey hey says:
I’ve searched how much a regular person use daily and I’ve learned that 500gb is actually more than enough. With 100gb specially placed for YouTube, even a gamer would not easily consume all 500gb.
archie says:
May magandang website ako na sasabihin sayo. Punta ka sa globe.com.ph, hanapin mo contact numbers nila tapos kulitin mo sila sa existing plans without data cap. Ang cool noon di ba?
rjregalado says:

K L says:
Menj says:
Does existing subscribers on the same plan get the upgraded data allocation as well?
diego delos santos says:
a few months ago, i suggested this plans to globe reps who keep pestering us. currently we have a running 4 years na, wired globe P1,599.00 10gb a day with 5 mbps thats around 300gb a day. but the best part is every 12 midnight the speed and data allowance returns to zero gb and the speed to normal when you consume the 10gb allowance a day. the question is, do the new plans reset everyday or every month? if it resets every day with a data allowance of 13.3 gb/per, then this is a good plan that is worth investigating just like the pldg fibre plan with unlimited data allowance. i heard from a pldt fibre user that the plan they have 3gb with unlimited data is very good so far in the 3 months using it. that’s in mandaluyong area.
GlobePLDT SUCKS says:
I think it refreshes monthly unlike yours na daily.
Christopher says:
Hi. May I ask.
Alucard says:
You need to call Globe hotline to update your plan.
Hey hey says:
That is a good offer. But how reliable is that anw? Will it really be that fast? If it depends in the location, how good is globe in dasmariñas cavite?
viperkid says:
better but still not enough for heavy use. with 20Mbps speed, i can download 1GB for about 5 minutes. so in an hour, it will be about 12GB x 5 hours per day for example = 60GB per day and that is from downloading alone. streaming activities from YouTube, Netflix, iFlix, etc not yet included.
500GB / 60GB = data allowance for 1899 go big plan will only last for 8.33 days with 20Mbps speed. but globe offers 50Mbps, so 500GB of data will be faster to consume theoretically.
pldt and converge still offers better plans for heavy users.
Drew says:
Dapat may additional data allocation din for Netflix. Hehe
BIBI says:
Can old subscriber of Globe be able to avail the new one as an upgrade?
Datacap says:
What happens to the speed after the cap? Back to 30%? What will be the new speed?
wickedsaint says:
With that kind of data caps, i will be surprised if globe will not throttle your speed at 256Kbps once you consumed the data allowance.
Abe Olandres says:
Based on experience, it drops to 50% of the promised speed after hitting the cap.
Drei says:
50%? Way better than 30%. But still not really an upgrade from older plans.
arjey says:
The new speed for DSL after fully consumption of Data Plan allocation is 256kbps! Just what they are currently implementing on LTE Broadband, This new plan is not a good take dont be fooled!
arjey says:
check the disclaimer* it clearly said it will drop the DSL/LTE speed to whooping 256kbps once fully consumption of Data Plan. The 30% of subscribed plan speed previously offered on DSL is now down to Dialup speed (256kbps).
kapitan says:
this is the best plan so far in the market — if only Converge ICT doesn’t exists.
TheWunderDog says:
Well globe is known for kain load. Have you heard about kain bandwidth? Ubos 20GB mo overnight for several nights. Tapos bebentahan ka ng booster sheyts.
Glenn says:
Capped, wired connection. boo
arjey says:
JustSaying says:
i think globe is being aggressive and creative with their Internet Plans, which is a good thing.
For those who don’t like capped speed, no one is forcing you to subscribe to their plans. You have PLDT, Converge and SkyCable to choose as an alternative.
Converge with their 25mbps/1,500 is a great value, but keep in mind it doesn’t come with a phone line, and is subject to fiber availability.
Honestly am thinking of switching to converge (since it’ll be available soon) and cut my PLDT Dsl, but the need for a phone line is still there, which costs around 700/month, so it kinda adds up 1500+700 = 2200/month
I’d still prefer globe fiber of pldt fiber because of the “free” phone line but they aren’t available yet in our building.
idiotfaggotglobe says:
magkano bayad sayo? eh wala ngang choice yung tao eh KUNG ANO LANG YUNG AVAILABLE NA PUTANGINANG CONNECTION MERON SA AREA NILA YUN LANG WALA NG CHOICE!! ALAM MO BA YUNG DUOPOLY? tanga ka rin e
NotASheep says:
Is this a copper line or a fibr line or hybrid?
Abe Olandres says:
Depends on your area.
Jon says:
Globe’s fiber has a very limited area coverage. If you don’t live in a posh subdivision/condo, it is most likely VDSL/VDSL2.
Carl Lamiel says:
If it’s part of your contract, you should already raise it up to the customer service for appropriate action.
Arvin says:
Is this the broadband version? Not the wired one? Our village doesn’t support wired internet
arjey says:
NTC and DICT are now looking into why fixed wired internet has capping and speed throttling, perhaps we might get a positive outcome from this offices under duterte admin.
JYB says:

Whelzkie says:
YugaTech, it would be nice to mention that THIS IS JUST A 6-MONTH PROMO. after 6 months, babalik na sa 100gb/mo ang 1,299, and other plans. Kakatawag ko lang sa globe few minutes ago and learn it from them.
el gato says:
boss carl, salamat sa advice. i decided to call 211 yesterday regarding my monthly internet bill which is in excess of my plan 1299php, 10mbps, 50GB data.
Tumawag ako noong May first week/second week,/4th week.
Anne Geline Gapasin says:
Globe, worse internet ever!!! I avail plan 1,299 10mbps, but everytime we do speedtest it’s always maximum of 0.5mbps of downloads and uploads. I called 211 for so many times but they still don’t take actions. Big regrets! Total waste of money! Worse service! Worse internet!
Remi Christensen says:
I can only agree to the above statements about Globe only deliver 0.5 Mbps. Globe is by god your worst ISP nightmare when something goes wrong. I have had bayantel (was very OK) and PLDT which for me have been over the top every time I have had error they have sometimes had a technician here within 1 day. Now also being a Globe 3 years subscriber I can tell you this much. Globe sucks in every possible way regarding support if your line NOT works the way it is supposed to. My service is 5 Mbps plan which have been OK for years giving me around 2-3 Mbps for almost 3 years when suddenly all I have each and every day now is 0.5 MBps. For 4 month we have been contacting Globe with absolutely ZERO action from there part. They just KEEP for 4 month saying they are looking into it! WTF my god. I welcome PLDT Fiber which I have already applied for in my area. I cant wat the day I get PLDT Fiber and I will show up in the nearest Globe center CACELLING MY Shitty connection and tel them “Globe, Please send someone fast to GET THAT SHITTY ANTENNA OF URS OF MY ROOF” Never in my life have I spokenb with support morons that many times that repeatedly want me to disconnect my modem for just another 1000 of times. Facts is GLOBE OVERSELL, Every day around midnight my speed gets up to the 5 Mbps I pay for and every morning it falls to the written above 5 Mbps. Unless U live like a vampire for god sake Never EVER get anything with GLOBE in it’s name. I have had PLDT for many years and what makes me sleep well is by the end of the day I lnow if something is wrong with my line PLDT will fix it! Not being scammy as Globe who just grab your money without giving almost anything in return unless U consider pay for 5 Mbps and get 0.5 Mbps.
Justin says:
Personally I prefer a more transparent internet plan. As a Globe subscriber I had wish to get a vdsl or better yet, a fiber service in my area. To be honest Globe’s internet speed had been consistent even though it is a DSL (ADSL2+) service.
Capping would reduce or prevent network congestion within their facility in an area. Since some of their subscribers may abuse the internet that they have subscribed if they will offer such unlimited service that is one of the most reason of congestion within the area.
Whenever I reached the data allocation limit, my speed will get throttled down to 30% of the subscribed speed. Seems fair enough to me.
One thing I can complain with my connection is it being limited to 1Mbps upload speed (regardless of the plan) in which it is the maximum limit of ADSL2+ or G992.5.

What is the upload speed of this plan? My 1299 10mbps 100gb cap has only 1mbps upload speed. So if this plan has the same upload speed on my current plan. I think this is not worth of an upgrade since I am only on gaming. In gaming, upload speed is needed because you will have packet loss if you have low upload speed same as having a high ping because of slow download speed.

Globelines has been decorating Bacolod City with brochure’s about their fast internet plans 50mb 100mb 200mb. Found one in my gate and went to the Globe office to sign up.
Turns out that they do not have any of those internet plans available in Bacolod City.
Globelines is advertising a service that they don’t have.

Here’s a suggestion Globelines, Stop wasting everyone’s time.

Called Globelines tech support the other day to see if i could get something done about the high latency during gaming.
Did some trace routes to different servers on my 8mb Dsl line and got the same results. My ping arriving at Makati was 35ms but Globelines bounces the data to a couple of places in Makati and adds 160ms latency for a new total of 193ms before it leaves Makati.
Explained this latency to tech support and they did not seem to know what i was talking about when they offered this response “You have a dynamic ip address so your ip address changes” (haha) Totally clueless, Was also offered the “We only work with High speed fiber accounts” in a effort to end the call.
To recap: My ping that day entered Makati at 35ms to ip address 120.28.0.157 Globelines sent it to 120.28.0.158 also in Makati but now the latency is 193ms.
Globelines gets the data at 35ms then adds 500% latency to it before it leaves Makati.
Tech support refused to pass this information to the engineers saying they did not have access to anyone and offered me the generic email for Globelines.
Forgot to mention this was the Platinum tech support as the first agent transferred me there after I had to explain latency to them. I mistakenly thought the tech support might be better at the Platinum level but it is the same script reading useless tech support Globelines is famous for.
fyi says:
It will probably be around 2030 before PLDT and Globe expand fiber coverage for the average person that is not politician-rich and living in exclusive sub-divisions. Does not matter at all how many internet providers there are, adding more will not change anything. The real problem is the government is controlled by the telco’s who have allowed them to get away with unreliable, slow and expensive internet. These two companies (PLDT & Globe) take over 90% of the profit for the owners and then take out loans for expansion and upgrading. Those loans and interest payments are then passed on to the customers. If these Telco’s were serious about rolling out high speed fiber they would stop looting 90% of the profit and use that to upgrade the major cities. Unreliable and expensive which is what you get when the government ignores it own laws and sells everything to foreign buyers. The telco’s and the government want everyone to think they are going to get better internet but ask When ? No one knows. Recently Globe has been advertising their fiber plans in cities like mine putting brochures in gates, hanging banners etc but they do not actully have any of these plans avaiable. When asked when they expect the services to roll out ? No idea they respond. When asked why they are advertising services that they dont have ? No response or Sorry for the inconvenience. They want to project an image that they are high speed internet providers with fast and reliable internet connections that are coming soon when in fact they are cash-cows for the owners and nothing more.

Why does every review site ignore the upload speed in these plans ? Do they know the upload speeds of the plans or are they paid by Globe to not post it ? Are the reviewers aware of how important upload speed is to gamers and youtube uploaders ? My 8mb download only has a 20 year ago 1mb upload. No fiber in Bacolod city even tho Globe pays people to put flyers in my gate advertising fiber.
Fyi says:
50 and 100 mbps fiber connections available to almost no one. A couple of cities have a couple of neighborhoods or subdivisions wired for these high end fiber connections. Everyone else in the country still only offered high latency dsl with only 1mb upload. In first world countries like the U.S the minimum speed that can be called broadband is 25mbps down and 3mbps up while the Philippines calls 256 kilobits per second download broadband.
