IMDb launches Freedive, a free streaming video channel

IMDb, a popular online database of information related to entertainment, and owned by Amazon, has launched its own streaming channel called Freedive, where customers can watch movies and TV shows for free.

There’s a catch though, as Freedive is an ad-supported channel, which is an expected trade-off considering the free services. Customers can watch TV shows including Fringe, Heroes, The Bachelor and Without a Trace as well as top Hollywood titles like Awakenings, Foxcatcher, Memento, Monster, Run Lola Run, The Illusionist, The Last Samurai, True Romance and more without purchasing a subscription. Ads cannot be skipped although you can rent or purchase the title on Amazon Prime Video if it’s available.

IMDb Freedive can be accessed via a laptop or personal computer and on all Amazon Fire TV devices. Unfortunately, the service is currently only available to customers in the U.S.
