Smart’s mobile internet down due to ‘unexpected difficulties’

Smart Communications tweeted an update explaining that its mobile internet services are currently down as a result of unexpected difficulties while conducting a system upgrade.

In its tweet, it said, “Our mobile internet services are currently down due to unexpected difficulties that arose while a systems upgrade was being implemented last night.”

It is still unclear when the internet services will be back to its regular state, although in a series of following tweets, the company assures that their “technical team is working to restore normal services as soon as possible.”

Update 1: A couple of Smart subscribers have been reporting that they are already able to connect and use their mobile internet. How about in your area?

Update 2: Smart tweeted that the mobile internet services have been normalized and subscribers need to just refresh their data connection in order to successfully connect to the Internet once again.

Tweeting an advisory is useless if people can’t connect to the network. They must send out a text blast to all subscribers.

Good point. If they could spam the users with ads and offers thru sms, I’m sure they could do that with this type of important advisory. Subscribers will appreciate this more.
