A reader once asked us for a list of gaming laptops under PHP 50K 10 that had a high refresh rate display, at least 8GB of RAM, and a decent GPU. Today, we’re doubling the budget to see what kind of specs your money can buy today.
Table of Contents
By doubling our budget, we can comfortably afford at least 16GB of RAM, a better GPU to drive high refresh rate displays – even on demanding titles, and better CPUs for other workloads such as video editing and 3D rendering.
Author’s note: We’re again using Villman’s pricing because they’re open during the MCQ. They also have a lot of branches nationwide and a wide variety of products available.
Starting our list is MSI’s highly acclaimed Stealth gaming laptop. Not only does it pack powerful hardware with Intel’s i7-9750H and NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1660Ti, but it’s all kept in a slim, ultra-book like body. It also comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS Level display running at 144Hz, 8GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage.
It’s available in Villman for PHP 101,000USD 1,721INR 145,905EUR 1,639CNY 12,534.
If you’re looking for a more immersive, larger display, then check out MSI’s Leopard series. It features a 17.3-inch 144Hz IPS display, an Intel Core i7-9750H CPU, and an NVIDIA GTX 1660Ti GPU. It also comes with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
It’s priced at PHP 94,995USD 1,619INR 137,230EUR 1,542CNY 11,789 in Villman.
Last year, we reviewed the previous generation Legion Y740, and this year, the 9th generation comes out even cheaper for better specs. It sports a 15.6-inch FHD display running on 144Hz. Under the hood, it sports an Intel Core i7-9750H, NVIDIA RTX 2060 GPU, paired with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD storage.
It’s priced in Villman at PHP 104,995USD 1,789INR 151,676EUR 1,704CNY 13,030.
If you’re under a stricter budget, consider the Legion Y540. It features the same display and CPU as the Y740 but comes with a worse panel (300nits vs. 500nits) and only 8GB of RAM.
The Legion Y540 is priced at PHP 94,995USD 1,619INR 137,230EUR 1,542CNY 11,789.
The ASUS ROG Strix G731GU features a larger 17.3-inch IPS Level display running at 144Hz. Under the hood, it sports an Intel Core i7-9750H processor, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660Ti, paired with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB + 1TB SSD+SSHD combo.
It’s available for PHP 94,995USD 1,619INR 137,230EUR 1,542CNY 11,789.
If your workload requires a color-accurate display and more RAM, then the Strix G G531GV is the model to look at. It features a 15.6-inch IPS Level display running at 120Hz and covers 100% of the sRGB gamut. It sports an Intel Core i7-9750H and a faster GeForce RTX 2060 GPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB + 512GB HDD + SSD storage combo.
It can be purchased for PHP 99,995USD 1,704INR 144,453EUR 1,623CNY 12,409 in Villman.
If budget is your main concern, the Acer Predator Helios 300 is the cheapest gaming laptop that comes with an RTX 2060 GPU. It doesn’t skimp on the CPU and display either, as it still comes with an Intel Core i7-9750H and a 15.6-inch IPS display running at 144Hz. The downside is that it comes with an HDD instead of an SSD and only 8GB of RAM.
It costs PHP 89,999USD 1,534INR 130,013EUR 1,461CNY 11,169 in Villman.
If you don’t want to upgrade the SSD and RAM yourself, Acer is offering the Predator Helios 300 PH315-52-79H2 with the same specs, but with a 256GB SSD and 16GB of RAM for PHP 99,999USD 1,704INR 144,459EUR 1,623CNY 12,410.
Again, as I said from the PHP 50k gaming laptop article 21, I would highly suggest waiting for this year’s releases as they are more powerful and come with better and faster displays.
However, with the situation with COVID-19, there’s no telling how long these releases will make it your country. So if waiting isn’t an option, we hope this list has helped. If you’re looking for work from home laptops instead, we made lists for options under PHP 35k and PHP 25k.
