Huawei recently introduced its Super Device Products at the Huawei APAC Smart Office Launch 2022 in Thailand, and the lineup includes a number of laptops, including the Huawei MateBook X Pro 2022 with a 12th-gen Intel Core processor. We were able to check it out on site, so read our hands-on below. The Huawei MateBook X Pro 2022 comes in three colors, White, Ink Blue, and Space Gray. These are attractive colors that will look great in any office setup.
It has a metallic body, with the Ink Blue and White models sporting a fine-grained coating that is inspired by the look and feel of ink wash paintings. The Space Gray Edition, on the other hand, uses aluminum alloy. Huawei says that it used micro-arc oxidation to produce a body that is durable and corrosion-resistant. It’s also light at 1.26kg.
On the left side, you’ll find the 3.5mm audio jack and two Thunderbolt 4 ports (charging and DisplayPort). On the right are two more USB-C ports (charging and DisplayPort).
On the front side are four microphones with AI noise cancellation. It can filter out ambient noise during sound pickups, such as ringtones and keyboard typing. For audio, the MateBook X Pro 2022 has 6 speakers with a split-frequency setup.
Open the lid and you’ll see the 14.2-inch LTPS screen. The bezels are so thin that it has a 92.5% screen-to-body ratio. It’s amazing that they were still able to fit an HD webcam at the top bezel. The screen has a resolution of 3120 × 2080 or 264ppi and a refresh rate of up to 90Hz. It’s also a touch screen to provide you with a more precise input.
Below it is the backlit keyboard with a fingerprint power button and a large touchpad that extends towards the bottom edge. The whole area is pressure-sensitive with tactile left and right clicks on the upper left and right sides. It also supports a wide variety of gestures that activates specific commands.
Powering the MateBook X Pro 2022 is a 12th Gen Intel Core i7-1260P processor, Intel Iris Xe Graphics, 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, up to 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD, 60Wh battery, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and Windows 11 Home with Huawei Super Device feature.
The price and availability of the Huawei MateBook X Pro 2022 in the Philippines are yet to be announced.
