Microsoft has finally released the long-awaited public Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista (SP2) and Windows Server 2008.
You can download the installer from the Microsoft Download Center –Â 32-bit (348 MB, download here), 64-bit (577 MB, download here), and IA64 (450 MB, download here) as well as an ISO image (1.38GB, download here) containing all three updates.
hmmm…is this final release?
get a lincense copy of vista. if you don’t want to pay a lincense copy then you can opt to linux. be fair man!
will it detect BIOS patches?
Please, can you PM me and tell me few more thinks about this, I am really fan of your blog…gets solved properly asap.
^ it is not like reformatting. it’s just a compilation of hotfixes, like stuff they missed out when they first released vista. still, it’s best to do a backup of important docs before installing SP2.
Just a quick question: If you install the service pack, will it delete the data that’s in the computer (just like reformatting)?
Thanks!
thanks for ur info
this is free???
@sylv3rblade: “it fixes vista but not the public mindset about it.” – lol
Service Pack is free to download. Check first if it will not conflict on your system.
is it free to download?
thanks for the updates sir abe…
classic microsoft act. when vista was released, they released xp sp3 too. now that win7 is on the way to mainstream, they’re releasing visat sp2?
@allan
it fixes vista but not the public mindset about it.
I have it but I haven’t really noticed any significant performance improvements yet. I don’t seem to have the problem with my animations turning off anymore though
@allan – about 800 hotfixes.
will this fix vista ?
will this significally fix vista problems ?
