Computing and filing taxes can be daunting for some, especially if it’s your first time doing it yourself. Good thing there are online services and apps that can help you with your taxes in the Philippines. Check out some recommendations below.
First up on the list is JuanTax. Classified as a premier tax software, this app is for tax practitioners, Philippine businesses, and accounting professionals. JuanTax is boasted to be the first BIR-Accredited tax app and offers services such as JuanTax Plus and JuanTax Fast File, which allows its users to understand things such as e-filing and tax form advisories. These services also give users access to support for further questions that may come along.
Do note that Juantax requires a subscription, but the users have access to both the mobile app and the online web platform. In addition, the app features data capture for tax documents, auto-filling for said tax forms, and electronically pays tax returns through accredited bank partners. This action allows users to save time instead of entering the other details for each box manually. Plus, scanned documents are backed up in the cloud, allowing customers access to any device that has the JuanTax application.
JuanTax has an available monthly plan priced at PHP 600; its annual plan, on the other hand, is priced at PHP 6,000. Note that there are additional add-ons such as receipt and invoice captures via mobile application and Data extraction, priced at PHP 2.00 for each service.
Taxumo is an online tax compliance tool in the Philippines that assists individuals such as freelancers, self-employed professionals, small business owners, and corporations. Just like JuanTax, Taxumo also requires users to be subscribed for their services. Once subscribed, users will have access to multiple payment channels such as credit/debit cards, Paypal, dragonpay, PayMaya, and even pawnshops, as described by Taxumo. Additionally, they support auto-generated tax forms, real-time tax calculations, and submission of attachments such as QAP, SAWT, and SLSP/VAT.
As mentioned previously, Taxumo requires a subscription to access its full features; however, they do have a free service that calculates user’s taxes in real-time. But if you do proceed to subscribe, their 8% plan is priced at PHP 888 per month, the Micro Business plan is at PHP 1,888 per month, and the Small & Medium is priced at PHP 2,888. For billings, they also cover quarterly, annual, and two-year billing.
Despite not having a dedicated application on Android and iOS, Taxumo is accessible to any smartphone.
The TaxWhizPH Mobile app is an on-the-go platform created by the Asian Consulting Group that helps users make tax compliance easier and simpler. So far, the app features things like tax calculators, tax calendars to note all the upcoming deadlines, and a tax alert that notifies the user of upcoming tax compliance requirements—additionally, the support asking services where users can contact the team of experts for other questions.
The team stated that features such as electronic filing and payment, automatic generation of reports, and receipt scanning are currently in development. So watch out for these as soon as they go live.
And there you have it! A list of software and programs that aid in organizing or assisting you and your taxes. What are your thoughts about these apps? Feel free to share them in the comments below.
