Table of Contents
1. Premium build, IP68-certified
Despite having tons of features, the LG V30 boasts a slim and light body measuring 7.3mm thin and 158g in weight. For durability, it uses an H-Beam structure that integrates the edge with a metal frame, and meets U.S. Department of Defense requirements for durability, having passed 14 categories of the MIL-STD 810G Transit Drop Test making it compliant for military operations. To top it off, the front and back are mounted with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 that curves towards the edges and has IP68 water and dust resistance.
2. Large high-resolution FullVision Display
The V30 sports a 6-inch OLED FullVision display with QHD+ (2880 x 1440), or equal to 538ppi. Not only that, it has an 18:9 aspect ratio with very slim bezels for a great screen-to-body ratio. That said, the V30 can certainly deliver in the display department making it a treat for those who like watching videos, viewing photos, or playing games on-the-go.
3. Flagship-grade specs
LG is keeping up with this year’s current flagship Android smartphones by equipping the V30 with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform. It even has a heat pipe and a cooling pad to help it dissipate heat quickly. Other specs include 4GB LPDDR4x RAM, 64GB/128GB UFS 2.0, a 3,300mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0, and Android 7.1.2 Nougat with LG’s UX 6.0+. That said, the LG V30 can certainly handle whatever you throw at it, even mobile VR applications.
4. High-end audio features
LG also wants the V30 to be an audiophile’s go-to device by equipping it with a 32-bit Advanced Hi-Fi Quad DAC with audio tuning by sound engineers from audio brand B&O PLAY. It utilizes digital filters which users can select, and four pre-programmed presets to produce the quality of audio found in professional earphones. The V30 is also the first global smartphone to support MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) technology that allows for the streaming of high-resolution audio.
5. Dual-rear cameras
The LG V30 won’t be complete without its dual rear cameras consisting of a main 16MP Standard Angle (F1.6 / 71°) and a secondary 13MP Wide Angle (F1.9/ 120°), both with Crystal Clear Lens. In addition, it features a 10-bit HDR image sensor, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), Hybrid Auto Focus, Point Zoom feature, and Cine Video mode with Cine Effect which provides a palette of 15 presets to give videos a unique movie-like look.
That concludes our list. All in all, the V30’s features make it LG’s most powerful smartphone to date, and an ideal tool for heavy multimedia users.
This would have been the android to beat if it has stereo or dual speakers. Interesting anyway, this could even be better than the Note 8.
