5 Winning Features of the Nokia 8

HMD Global’s latest flagship smartphone, the Nokia 8, was launched just this month. It’s the most powerful Android in the lineup with its 5.3-inch Quad HD display, Snapdragon 835 chipset, and dual 13MP rear cameras. Check out the other features that make this phone worth of your attention.

1. Premium and attractive body

To match its flagship status, the Nokia 8 boasts a premium body and design. Nokia says that it underwent a rigorous 40-stage process of machining, anodizing and polishing. The result is a polished and ergonomic aluminium unibody which comes in four eye-catching colors: Polished Blue, Tempered Blue, Steel, Polished Copper. It’s also splashproof with its IP54 rating.

2. High-resolution display w/ Gorilla Glass 5

The Nokia 8 sports a 5.3-inch IPS display with Quad HD (2560 x 1440) resolution. This equates to a high pixel density of 554ppi. So if you don’t like noticing pixels on your phone when viewing photos, playing games, or watching videos, the Nokia 8’s display won’t disappoint. In addition, it is mounted with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 5, Corning’s best as of writing, for protection.

3. Dual 13MP rear cameras

Nokia can now compete in the dual rear camera game as HMD Global equipped the Nokia 8 with two 13MP rear shooters: 13 MP (Colour + OIS) + 13 MP (Mono). It uses ZEISS optics, Phase Detect AF, Ir range finder, and dual-tone flash. In addition, it’s capable of shooting in 4K resolution with OZO Audio technology for 360-degree recording. Its front 13MP PDAF shooter is not to be snubbed as well.

4. Powerful CPU

As a 2017 flagship device, the Nokia 8 is powered by Qualcomm’s most powerful mobile platform to date – the Snapdragon 835 octa-core SoC. It is then partnered to a 4GB LPPDDR4X RAM and 64GB UFS 2.1 storage. The company also added a full-length copper cooling pipe with graphite shield to dissipate system heat across the full body of the phone. That said, the Nokia 8 can handle heavy tasks and keep itself cool at the same time.

5. Pure Android experience

One of the best features of HMD Global’s Android Nokia smartphones is its “pure, secure and up-to-date” Android OS. Right now, the Nokia 8 runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat but is expected to receive Android 8.0 Oreo. So if you’re looking for a smartphone that can offer this kind of Android experience, the Nokia 8 should be on your list.
