Samsung has finally unveiled their latest smartphone, the Galaxy Note8. It packs features that can easily take away the spotlight from current flagship devices like the large 6.3-inch QHD+ display, powerful CPU, large RAM, and S-Pen. Find out more about its winning features below.
1. Premium build & design
As you have seen, the Note8 sports a different look compared to its predecessor which is evident when you look at the front. It’s got a great screen-to-body ratio and a glossy metal frame with two curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and at the back. Not only that, the Note8 and its S-Pen are IP68-certified meaning it can withstand a good deal of water and dust. It’s quite a large device yet it Samsung was able to keep it at a very handy 74.8mm width and 8.6mm thickness.
2. Large high-resolution display
The Note8 is a treat for those who are looking for a smartphone with a big display as it has 6.3-inches of it. In addition, it has a QHD+ (2960 x 1440 pixels) resolution or equal to 522ppi, an 83.6% screen-to-body ratio, and a Super AMOLED panel. What it means is you can watch videos, view photos, even play VR games in its full glory. Not to mention it has a multi-windows feature, allowing you to run two apps side-by-side.
3. Powerful CPU & large RAM
The Note8 is powered by a Samsung Exynos 8895 octa-core processor, Mali-G71 GPU, and 6GB RAM. The processor is the same one used by the Galaxy S8/S8+ which is already proven to be a capable engine. Add to that the fast Flash Memory chip that boasts read speeds of up to 779.79 MB/s in AndroBench. If you’re a heavy user or a mobile gamer, expect the Note8 to breeze through it.
4. S-Pen features
A Note device won’t be complete without its S-Pen. Although the one on the Note8 features the same specs as the Note7’s, it’s still a worthy partner. It offers features like Create note, View all notes, Smart select, Screen write, Live message (which allows you to record a doodle), Translate, and Bixby Vision. You can even do quick note-taking on the Always On Display. Like the Note8, it’s S-Pen is also IP68-certified.on the Always On Display. Like the Note8, it’s S-Pen is also IP68-certified.
5. Dual rear cameras
The Note8 is Samsung’s first smartphone to feature dual rear cameras, and they didn’t put it there just for the sake of it. The setup consists of two 12MP Dual Pixel shooters. The first one is the main shooter with f/1.7 aperture, while the other offers 2X zoom (up to 10X digital zoom) with f/2.4 aperture. It even offers 1/24000 sec to 10 sec shutter speed in Manual mode. Both sensors feature Optical Image Stabilization. That said, the Note8 is not just a productivity phone, but a hardcore shooter as well.
