Acer has made official their new Android and SnapDragon smartphone called Acer Stream. This is probably the 5th Android smartphone from Acer but the first one having a 1GHz SnapDragon processor.
Acer Liquid Stream
3.7″ AMOLED screen @ 480×800 pixels
Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 1.0GHz processor
512MB RAM, 512MB ROM
2GB internal storage
up to 32GB via microSD (8GB included)
HSDPA 7.2Mbps, HSUPA 2Mbps
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n with DLNA & UPnP
Bluetooth 2.1 w/ A2DP
5MP autofocus camera
Android 2.1 Eclair
FM tuner w/ RDS
GPS w/ A-GPS support
Li-Ion 1400mAh
The specs looked very similar to the Nexus One, except for that 2GB internal storage. Although the Acer Stream’s AMOLED display is at 3.7 inches, it’s a little thinner than the Google Nexus One at 11.2mm but heavier at 140 grams.
The Stream will have Android 2.1 pre-installed and is readily upgradeable to Froyo. Acer also added its own Touch 3D UI v4.0 on top of the OS layer. We’re not sure if this unit will ever hit the Philippines considering the previous ones haven’t even been seen locally.

Angie says:
I’d still go with Samsung’s Galaxy
Angie says:

Dhan says:
Acer should stick to what it does best, computer parts. :) just my opinion.
gspydr says:
specs is great! i believe android may run LXDE and i guess what’s inside the hood of this baby is more than enough to have a fast cat!
kukuoz says:
resembles a crappy china phone. iphone 4 will whip this one :p
JP says:
@Abe, I’m really giddy for you to do a review on the Dell Streak and some other economy-priced smart phones that can also run the Android Froyo.
Adrian says:
i still love my iphone.
Arvin says:
I think yung pinakamagandang android phone is yung bagong HTC Droid Incredible. Has all the features of the Nexus One but a cooler slim design!! sana hindi ipagdamot ng Verizon USA!

under the hood maganda ang specs.. pero sa design super olats! :/
gspydr says:
new iphone probably won’t be shipping with flash and maybe even won’t be able to install the same. youtube is still in beta with html5 and i doubt if they’re keen fully adopting html5 :(
lolipown says:
so many haters ITT and yet there’s not a single mention of Apple in the post tsk tsk tsk
Jose Farrugia says:
The only problem with the Samsung Galaxy S is that it’s running on a 800MHZ processor as compared to the Nexus One at 1GHZ. Thus, you could expect the UI to be a little bit sluggish here and there.
Angie says:
@Jose I don’t know about you and the other guy, but the Galaxy S that I was talking about is the unreleased I9000. The I9000’s processor is a 1Ghz Cortex A8, which has a slight advantage over the Snapdragon especially with 3D rendering (Games, image, video playback, etc.)
Teknisyan says:
We already have a very crowded smartphone/touchscreen phones market… not sure if acer can be like the laptop market.
Of course they still have to prove their worth in the smartphone market. Specially in the tablet market!!!

lolipown says:
@Angie
I think Jose was referring to to i7500 or even the i5700
