Alcatel One Touch Flash Plus benchmark results

We managed to get a hold of an early test unit of the Alcatel Flash Plus and immediately went to test how powerful and optimized the octa-core processor. Check out the benchmark results we got from the handset.

The Flash Plus uses a Mediatek MT6752 which is a 64-bit octa-core 4G LTE chip based on the ARM Cortex-A53 processor with ARM Mali-T760 graphics. It has a maximum core speed of 2.0GHz but in the case of the Flash Plus, they underclocked it to just 1.7GHz to allow for better battery efficiency.

That, and the 3,500mAh battery rating should give us some pretty good results in our battery tests (We just discovered that the battery is non-removable).

Here are our initial benchmark results.

Benchmark TestAlcatel Flash PlusZenfone 2 ZE500CL
Antutu Benchmark43,51923,231
Quadrant Standard20,1498,182
Vellamo1,675 (Multicore)

938 (Multicore)
3,238 (Chrome)1366 (Chrome)
1,194 (Metal)646 (Metal)
PCMark 4,030 (Work Performance)3,573 (Ice Storm Unlimited)
3DMark 6,752 (Ice Storm Extreme)-

The Antutu score of 43,519 is pretty impressive — it sits between the 1.8GHz Z3560 of the Zenfone 2 ZE550ML at 42k and the 2.3GHz Z3580 of the Zenfone 2 ZE551ML at 45k.

The Quadrant Standard score of 20,149 also beat the 1.8GHz Z3560 of the Zenfone 2 ZE551ML although the 2.3GHz is still better.

Even the Vellamo Chrome Browser test got a score of 3,238 which is way higher than most flagship handsets from last year.

As for the price, we now got a definite figure (the earlier Php6,990 price we floated before was our own suggestion to Alcatel) we are confirming and the release date has been moved back a couple of weeks this May.

hahahaha! Yan ang sinasabi ko eh. Kaya iPhone pa rin the best eh.

    • Chad says:

Apple fan boy alert. :)

  2. Mike says:

What are the specifics band of its LTE? Is it compatible to both Smart and Globe current LTEs?

And also, both sims are 4G capable right? But only 1 at a time?

  3. oliver says:

All else equal, alin kaya mas matagal battery life – lenovo a5000 o yan?

  4. geile says:

Oo nga yung camera bakit f/2.2 diba yung Sony IMX 214 ay f/2.0!
So ibig sabihin hindi Sony IMX 214 yung camera ganon?
So ibig sabihin din niloloko nyo kami?
Baka interpolated nanaman yung camera nyan!

    • jec says:

i think we need another clarification on this. Does this really have a Sony sensor

  5. nika says:

ayy non removable ung bat perfect nasa kung removable, camera test nga! I’ve been waiting for this phone since its what I can only afford :p

  6. ramon says:

why is the camera aperture 2.2??? they told us it is a sony imx214 with 2.0 aperture??? are they lying??? hmmm

  7. kikomachine says:

Sir Yuga, may 32gb ROM version kaya ito?

  8. A says:

    XD

  9. AnonymousE says:

    • Abe Olandres says:

We were consulted by Alcatel as to the SRP of the Flash Plus and we gave 3 price points, Php6,990 being the highest SRP of all 3 suggestions. They gave us a go ahead to report the Php6,990 price. This is the reason why we published Php6,990 in our previous stories — and, in case they changed their minds afterwards, the final SRP will still be lower than what we reported.

  11. jix says:

“Just got confirmation that Alcatel’s very affordable yet capable smartphone, the Alcatel Flash Plus, is set for release in the Philippines by May 1, 2015 with a price tag of around Php6k.”

    • Abe Olandres says:

We suggested different SRP to them, Php6,990 being the highest of all three suggestions. We got another info now that the SRP will be lower than Php6,990.

  12. cK says:

Wow.. What a bummer. There was much hype about this phone because of its price and then boom! Suggested by Yugatech lang pala. Haha. Kamot ulo tuloy

    • cK says:

It would be better siguro if you will include such information on your future posts Sir Abe, to avoid confusion. Buti na lang pala less than the published price ang selling price. If it would have been higher, maraming tao ang madidisappoint

    • Abe Olandres says:

  13. haguri says:

  14. hey says:

    So it’s 1.7GHz and not 1.5GHz?

  15. www.kusina101.com says:

    • Abe Olandres says:

We suggested different SRP to them, Php6,990 being the highest of all three suggestions. We got another info now that the SRP will be lower than Php6,990.

  16. Rion says:

Wow, they should release this first before ZF2…

    • Lily says:

  17. eric says:

Wow ang taas.. ng benchmark. Magkano kaya ito.. alcatel is one of the best phone dati.

  18. edard says:

so gawa gawa nyo lang pala yung presyo? aba matinde!
