ASUS Zenfone 5Q vs Huawei P20 Lite specs comparison

Two well-respected brands, ASUS and Huawei, recently released their newest line-up of smartphones. Today we’ll be putting face to face the most affordable offerings of each of their new series. Which do you think is better: ASUS Zenfone 5Q or Huawei P20 Lite? Let’s Find out below!

The ASUS Zenfone 5Q is the only smartphone in the Zenfone 5 reboots that didn’t follow the notch pattern. It has a 6-inch 18:9 IPS display with a 2160 x 1080 resolution, Snapdragon 630 processor, 64GB internal storage, 4GB RAM, 20MP + 8MP dual rear cameras with LED flash, 16MP + 8MP dual front cameras with LED flash, and 3,300mAh battery.

The Huawei P20 Lite is the company’s mid-range smartphone with a notch. It has a 5.84-inch 19:9 LTPS IPS display with 2280  x 1080 resolution, Kirin 659 processor, 64GB/128GB internal storage, 4GB RAM, 16MP + 2MP dual rear cameras with LED flash, 16MP front camera, and 3,000mAh battery.

For users, it is important to have a smartphone with a good viewing experience. In this case, The Zenfone 5Q has a slightly higher screen size while the P20 Lite has a higher display quality. We’ll go with the latter in this one since both are already above the average screen size that phones usually have.

When tested with AnTuTu and Geekbench, we found that both the Snapdragon 630 and Kirin 659 processors have their own advantages. The former has a higher multi-core score while the latter has a higher Single-core.

The Zenfone 5Q has better gaming performance over the P20 Lite because of its overall power.

One notable advantage for the Zenfone 5Q is its wide-angle lenses on both the front and rear cameras, giving users an option to cover wider areas for their shots. We’ve already taken sample photos from both smartphones which can be found here: ASUS Zenfone 5Q and Huawei P20 Lite

The Zenfone 5Q has a slightly larger battery compared to the P20 Lite. Our video playback showed that the former has a longer battery life, which is perfect for movie lovers and gamers. We’ve yet to confirm if the P20 Lite has fast charging technology since it lasted for 2 hours and 30 minutes based on our charging time.

Overall, if users want to have a smartphone with better gaming performance, a dedicated microSD card slot, wide-angle lenses, and longer lasting video playback time, then the Zenfone 5Q is the right choice. If charging isn’t a problem then a better quality display with faster mobile data connectivity, USB Type-C port, and Android 8.0 Oreo, is found inside the P20 Lite.
